Thomas Hollern: This game feels like it's the old masters versus the young upstarts. Hopefully won't be as 1 sided as last night's offering.

Gianluigi Buffon is not alone in being a hugely respected and decorated player who has, so far, failed to taste Champions League success. There's also Francesco Totti, Ronaldo (the Brazilian one) and Alan Shearer to name but a few.

Who do you think is the biggest player never to win the Champions League? Let us know via #bbcfootball, text in on 81111 (UK only) or post a comment on the Match of the Day Facebook page.

Gianluigi Buffon has won plenty throughout his long career but the Champions League has so far eluded him.

He was a runner up in 2003 and 2015 and, given his age, this might be his last chance of lifting Europe's top domestic trophy.

You can tell Gianluigi Buffon is a man approaching 40 by the fact that he sticks rigidly to in-ear headphones. None of those big cans here.

At the opposite end of the scale to Kylian Mbappe is Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

The 39-year-old has been around a loooong time. He was playing for Italy at the 1998 World Cup, five months before Mbappe was even born.

Faced with the prospect of playing against someone 21 years his junior, Buffon has been sitting in his rocking chair on the porch, reminiscing about the old days.

"I remember when I was young having that feeling of being indestructible," Buffon said.

"Mbappe is an incredible talent and also seems like a good kid, so that will really help his career and I hope it’ll be a luminous career, at that."

Alex Hurt: Feel like the insane attack of Monaco might be to much for Juventus but only time will tell.

Is there a more exciting talent than Kylian Mbappe in Europe right now?

The 18-year-old has caught the eye of top European clubs with a stunning return of 22 goals in 36 appearances for Monaco so far this season.

He also scored five goals in four knockout matches against Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund to help his side reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.

He'll be chomping at the bit to have a go at Juventus' formidable defence but veterans Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini, with a combined age of 62, have seen off the challenge of many an enthusiastic upstart over the years.

This could be Mbappe's toughest test yet.

This season's Champions League has been a belter hasn't it? Great goals, LOTS of goals and epic comebacks.

There were plenty of goals last night as Real Madrid brushed aside Atletico Madrid in the first of the first-leg semi-finals and there's good chance of more of the same tonight.

Monaco are one of the most free-scoring sides in Europe but their fine, attacking talent will be tested to the limit by a miserly Juventus defence.

    An intriguing battle awaits.

  11. Young vs Oldpublished at 18:29 British Summer Time 3 May 2017

Being young certainly has its advantages.

You have the ability to make a hangover disappear by midday, you can climb slight inclines without needing a sit down and you can post a picture of yourself with dog ears to Snapchat within seconds.

But being old is not all that bad as well. Age brings with it knowledge, experience and the ability to appreciate the pleasure of an afternoon nap.

Tonight, Monaco face Juventus. It pits the French side's exciting young talent against the wise old heads of Juventus.

    So will it be youth...
