    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, speaking to BT Sport: "We are just thinking about the semi-final and more importantly the final - it is a big match.

"We focus on it knowing we have a difficult match in front of us. We have to show we are ready."

On his team selection: "We don't have many options in this group, we have to play in the Europa League and the Premier League which is not easy.

"But we gave a rest to some of the players on Sunday and I hope they can compete."

On Marcus Rashford starting: "We need somebody to score goals - it doesn't matter who that is. Our objective is to score goals, even though we know if we don't concede we go through."

On the importance of the home fans: "If they don't want to be in a final then I don't know what they want. They want Champions League and we want it, but the reality is we are in the Europa League."

Where's the joy gone for Jose Mourinho? He looks as unhappy as ever during his pre-match interview where once again he labours the point of how many games his squad have had to play in such a short space of time.

Will he complain about having one more to fit in if they go through tonight?

Rooney wants to be a manager, he has not made a secret of that.

We have seen how sucessfull Italian managers are and have been in the Premier League so he would learn a lot out there but I just fear the wages make that as unlikely as him going to Everton.

He will have a lot of pressure on him to make the money. He will have a lot of people saying "you can make big money if you take this big contract in China".

The romantic in me would make the football decision.

Wayne Rooney needs a new challenge. He has been written off for Man United and England. At 31 he still has so much to offer

I would like to see him go to Italy and play there for the next four or five years. He will learn so much about the game.

Then he could come back to the England squad - I know people say he is done, he is history, he is finished but he is 31. He is not 36, 37 on his last legs.

He has not played an awful lot of football in the last 18 months so for me he has got to look at a fresh challenge which will prove to people that "I have still got energy and I can still do a job" and I think somewhere like Italy would suit him down to the ground and he would learn so much.

I make it 12 camera crews lined up by the side of the pitch, emphasising the massive appeal of this game tonight.

The normal press box has been expanded by quite a long way too.

The seats are still largely empty though, apart from the away end, which is virtually full - and very noisy.

I think Jonathan Northcroft is being very harsh there. If you win two trophies and get into the Champions League, that has to be minimum eight out of 10.

Plenty of Manchester United fans might disagree with Jose Mourinho's obsession with winning the Europa League, but Wayne Rooney doesn't.

The winners are guaranteed to qualify for next season's Champions League, as are the top four teams in the Premier League.

United are currently fifth in the league, four points behind fourth-placed Manchester City with three games remaining.

"This club belongs in the Champions League," says Rooney

"Realistically, it's going to be difficult to do it through the league. We have to concentrate on winning the trophy."

I think Mourinho has done an "okay job".

Winning the League Cup brings it to about a 6 out of 10 season.

If he wins the Europa League, it's a 7/10 season but no more than that - they are 19 points behind Chelsea, they are sixth in the Premier League.

Manchester United just shouldn't be there and when you talk about the prestige of United it depends on them being in the Champions League, I think Jose Mourinho's season really depends on succeeding in his gamble and winning that Europa League.

But even that makes it a slightly better than average season given the money they have spent and what the qualities are.

    Better than Ronaldo? Big call.

Sir Alex always always maintained that Rooney was more talented than Ronaldo at United, comparing the gulf in class between the two careers is outrageous, if Rooney had Ronaldo's work ethic who knows what heights he could have reached.

There is a lot of pace in this Manchester United side and we know Spanish teams are quite technical but this very strong United squad will be able to close them down, no problem.

Celta Vigo can't play any worse so hopefully we will see a better team on the ball tonight.

I can't see Man United not going through to the final tonight - they are just too powerful.
