We have seen periods in Aguero's Man City career when he has looked jaded.

Guardiola may well be thinking that he does not want to let that happen, not let that staleness take over.

It may well also be that in training Gabriel Jesus is flying.

Berahino apologies to West Brom fans

Stoke striker Saido Berahino says he was "lost" at West Brom and has apologised to fans for his behaviour.

Berahino joined Stoke on 20 January for a fee of £12m, signing a five-and-a-half-year deal to bring an end to a turbulent period at The Hawthorns.

The 23-year-old has not played since September and described his situation at West Brom as "very hard".

"I just thank Stoke for having so much faith in me, for coming window after window, wanting to sign me," he said.

West Ham v Manchester City (19:45 GMT)

The London Stadium is very empty indeed 10 minutes from kick-off. The Hammers have won only two of their last 16 league and cup games against Manchester City but it's hard to know just what sort of performance Pep Guardiola's men will serve up at the moment.

  7. Postpublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

Given the money they have spent, if both Manchester clubs miss out on the Champions League it would be quite something. That seems to be the popular view though.

  9. The new Payet?published at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

West Ham v Manchester City (19:45 GMT)

The Hammers eventually said au revoir to Dimitri Payet this week as he departed back to former club Marseille for £25m.

He's not a direct replacement, but Hull winger Robert Snodgrass is the man set to take his spot on free-kicks.

How big a miss will be Payet be? Or are the club better off without him?

  10. Who had the best window?published at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

The teams at the top of the table didn't bother with the transfer window, so it was down to those in the bottom half to get busy.

Hull moved bodies in and out, Burnley broke their transfer record on deadline day to get Robbie Brady and Crystal Palace signed two left-backs and Mamadou Sakho.

But who had the best window?

I understand the change to drop Aguero.

It is really exciting to see Gabriel Jesus. The pace up front for City is fantastic.

Sterling, when he gets going is extraordinary and we know Jesus has pace.

That is the worry for West Ham immediately but they will want to get it up to their big guy up front.

  16. Is Bravo actually as bad as stats imply?published at 19:18 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

West Ham v Man City (19:45 GMT)

For many, Claudio Bravo's first five months in English football were neatly summed up by the caller to the BBC's 606 phone-in last month who dubbed the Manchester City goalkeeper a 'false no. 1'.

We decided to crunch the numbers, before City's 2-2 draw with Spurs, and see is Bravo actually playing as badly as the stats suggested?

  19. Say hello to Saido, wave goodbye to Bojanpublished at 19:17 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

    Stoke v Everton (20:00 GMT)

It was one in and one out for Stoke at the end of the transfer window and the conclusion of one of the longest-running transfer sagas in recent times.

Saido Berahino first wanted out from West Brom in August 2015, being denied a move to Tottenham and famously telling chairman Jeremy Peace that he would never play for the club again.

Without causing any offence or disrepect - although it's hard to complete this sentence without doing either - Berahino has ended up at Stoke, not Spurs, and after scoring just three goals since the end of 2015 it's hard to predict whether his career can climb again

Leaving the club was Bojan, the forward a darling of many Potters fans but not, latterly, of boss Mark Hughes. He's been farmed out to Mainz in the Bundesliga.

  20. Who's up front?published at 19:15 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017

West Ham v Manchester City (19:45 GMT)

West Ham have signed an incredible 31 different strikers since David Gold and David Sullivan took control of the club in 2010.

That's an average of 4.5 strikers per season, with a total of 131 goals between them.
