The history books will say Arsenal won it 2-0, but that doesn't come close to telling the full story. Hull could have got something from that game and it was only in stoppage time that their brave effort was snuffed out.

You've got to feel sorry for Sam Clucas. His keeper has stitched him right up! It was an easy decision for Mark Clattenburg. 

And do you want to know the irony? Jakupovic had probably made up the ground and was covering behind Clucas, not that the defender knew.

Nick Hughes: Gibbs is being given the run around by Markovic, who's been Hull's best player. Why don't Liverpool want him? Makes no sense. 

Ricky Kelehar: This is why Wenger is maddening. Takes our two best players of today off and leaves the utterly ineffectual Ozil on.

Arsenal are scrambling. Laurent Koscielny has to reach to dispossess Oumar Niasse. Into the final five. This has been a second-half grind for the Gunners.

Still Hull ask the questions. Yet another cross. Poorly dealt with. Another corner. The Tigers have had seven to Arsenal's three. Diomande! Headed over. Should have hit the target. 

All of the action is in the Arsenal half. The home fans look worried. Hull free-kick. The big beasts go to challenge, but it loops into the hands of Petr Cech. 

The Hull full-backs are miles up the field. If anything, the Tigers' delivery is just letting them down. Double change for Arsenal. The Alexs - Iwobi and Oxlade-Chamberlain off, Lucas Perez and Danny Welbeck on.

The Arsenal defenders might need helmets for the rest of this game. They will be bombarded. A Hull corner, a diving Oumar Niasse heading wide. In Six Nations season, the up-and-unders will keep coming. 

Eamonn McGurk: Desperate times maybe, but I'll take a scrappy 1-0 win against Hull in a 75% full stadium! 

Nick Aaron: I can see Hull getting something here. Arsenal extremely wasteful once again.

Arsenal have to ride the storm. Cross after cross from Hull. From the left, from the right, from the left again. Lazar Markovic gets the header in and Petr Cech saves, but this is far from comfortable for the Gunners. Last sub for the Tigers. Tom Huddlestone off, Adama Diomande on.

Just after I praise Alexis Sanchez, he goes in the book for diving. There was a hint of contact from Andrea Ranocchia, but Sanchez made the full three-course meal out of it.

Alexis Sanchez has been excellent today. There's been chat about his attitude, maybe a sense of frustration from the Chilean, but he's been everywhere, chasing the ball life his life depends on it.
