It's just started to settle down a little, not nearly as stretched, more time on the ball in the freezing London conditions. Alexis Sanchez is still all over the show, shaking his hips like Patrick Swayze. Hull are organised, a wall of black behind the ball.

  2. 'This is a very enterprising game'published at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2017

    Arsenal 0-0 Hull

    David Pleat
Former Spurs boss at Emirates Stadium for 5 live Sport

"Arsenal are hurrying the ball forward and Tom Huddlestone really can't cope with Alexis Sanchez.

"Of course, with Sanchez picking up the ball in midfield it cramps Mesut Ozil's style - the German looks a bit ineffective and he's not a favourite of the home supporters at the moment.

"This is a very enterprising game."

I've just been told that the bouncer sitting next to Arsene Wenger is Boro Primorac, Arsenal's first-team coach, a former Yugoslavia defender and nightclub doorman. According to Wikipedia, he speaks nine different languages. According to me, he's fluent in pain.

  4. 'Hull probably should be 2-0 down'published at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2017

    Arsenal 0-0 Hull

    Peter Swan
Former Hull City defender on BBC Radio Humberside

"Hull got the challenge in on Walcott but inadvertently played the ball into the path of Alexis Sanchez, who really should have scored.

"That's two excellent chances Arsenal have wasted, and Hull probably should be 2-0 down."

And another! This time it's Alexis Sanchez, dancing through the defence, having enough time t turn and shoot, only to pull the left-footed shot wide. This is a cracking 0-0.

Chances everywhere. This time for Arsenal. Opening up the visitors, Hector Bellerin arriving, only to shoot wide. One of the few you don't want it to fall to.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 13 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Hull City

What has Marco Silva done to Hull? This is another great chance. Oumar Niasse's header is beaten away by Petr Cech, the opportunity created by a wonderful Kamil Grosicki cross. Hull will score today, I reckon...

Wenger, in the stands, is sitting next to a heavy. Thick-set, gum in the mouth, red tie already pulled low to reveal an open top button. He looks like a Mitchell brother. Arsenal could do with him in defence.

  9. 'Great play by Markovic'published at 12:42 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2017

    Arsenal 0-0 Hull

    Peter Swan
Former Hull City defender on BBC Radio Humberside

"Great play by Lazar Markovic, showing great pace and leaving the Arsenal defence for dead.

"Ultimately the ball can't have been close enough to Oumar Niasse for him to commit to the slide. A good start from Hull."

Good game this, very open. Don't bother with a midfield, just attack and defend. School playground stuff.

Hull could - and maybe should - be ahead. Lazar Markovic down the right, pinching the ball from Alex Iwobi and leaving Laurent Koscielny for dead. He rolls it across goal, but Oumar Niasse doesn't read the runes and lets it flash by. Get on the end of it!

Alexis Sanchez has been lively in the first few minutes, as bright as his green boots. He harries Tom Huddlestone into an awful pass that finds its way to Mesut Ozil. As Theo Walcott screams for the ball, Ozil dawdles, then unleashes a shot softer than three-ply toilet paper.

The touchline-banished Arsene Wenger is still in the stands, huddling under a long coat. It's not his usual full duvet. Strange, because it's cold enough to make a brass monkey cry. No atmos at the Emirates.

  14. 'Keep things tight from the off'published at 12:34 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2017

    Arsenal 0-0 Hull

    Peter Swan
Former Hull City defender on BBC Radio Humberside

"The secret for Hull is not to concede within the first 20 minutes. The Arsenal fans are crucial today - they expect to be entertained and if they don't get what they want they start to turn on their side.

"So keep things tight from the off and the Tigers have a chance."

Plenty of empty seats inside the Emirates. It's probably a little early to shake off the champagne headache. Arsenal with the first attack, Hull contriving to give the ball to Alexis Sanchez in their own box. Not a great idea. Eventually it's scrambled for a corner.

    Martin Keown

"I still think Hull's players aren't quite strong enough to stay up. Ask me to pick a side who will be relegated and I'll say Hull."
