Why was your name called out over the Stadium PA system?

Joe: In 2005, my English teacher found out my best mate and I were London Irish fans and I was going to my first game at the stadium, which they shared with Reading. During the build-up we suddenly hear "A warm welcome to.." and our two names! An amazing birthday experience, and the coolest English teacher ever!

Not heard of any league games cancelled yet because of the weather but will shout up as soon as I do.

Everton always perform when Romelu Lukaku performs. His numbers are ridiculous for his age but I feel there are too many games when he doesn't do enough.

When I work with ex-strikers, they all watch him and get frustrated. He should give you more.

He needs to become the leader of the team, to grab the game by the scruff of the neck. He can take Everton forwards and that will propel him to the next level.

Everton's improved performances can convince striker Romelu Lukaku to stay at the club, says boss Ronald Koeman.

The Belgium international's agent has said a new deal at Goodison is close to being agreed., external

"If players see a future in the club and the team is improving and getting stronger every day that is always a plus for them to stay," Koeman said.

"That is what we need to show him so he is convinced the short future is at Everton."

The Toffees were ninth following defeat by local rivals Liverpool on 19 December but have since gone seven league games unbeaten and sit seventh.

  9. Boro on uneasy streetpublished at 11:08 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2017

    Middlesbrough v Everton (15:00 GMT)

    Alistair Mann
    MOTD commentator

After weeks of keeping themselves above the bottom three, defeat this weekend could see Middlesbrough fall into it for the first time this season.

Their current seven-game winless run, coupled with the recent upturn in form of Hull, Sunderland and Swansea, has finally diverted Boro onto uneasy street.

Defensively they remain a tough side to break down, but as the league's lowest scorers it's their offensive deficiencies which have sucked them into trouble.

Contrast that with Everton, who arrive on the back of four wins in their last five games and with Romelu Lukaku having scored more league goals last Saturday against Bournemouth than Middlesbrough's entire squad have netted since Christmas!

Help me understand this logic, Middlesbrough fans. Your side struggles to score goals - they are the lowest scorers in the Premier League with just 19 from 24 games.

Why oh why oh why did Boro let Jordan Rhodes - as natural a finisher as you will ever see - leave?

    Madness.

Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has thanked Jurgen Klopp for the advice that helped him through a tough start to his Old Trafford career.

Liverpool boss Klopp counselled the player through a difficult time when they were at Borussia Dortmund in 2013.

Earlier this season, Mkhitaryan did not play in the league for 10 weeks and remembered Klopp's previous advice.

"I am thankful to Klopp. He worked on my personality and the psychological part," 28-year-old Mkhitaryan said.

Danny Baker has been asking for people to tell him about the time their name was called over a stadium PA. Here's one from Jason in Lincolnshire:

"On my 18th birthday I went to watch Boston Utd v Grimsby. After a shocking first half Boston went in at half time 4-0 down. As manager Steve Evans headed down the tunnel I hurled a load of less than friendly "advice" at him. Moments later an announcement was made asking for me to make my way to the nearest steward. Nervously I obliged only to be led onto the pitch to be presented with a signed shirt arranged by a friend."

    Sunderland v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Martin Fisher
    Match of the Day commentator

Last week's extraordinary and hugely unexpected 4-0 victory away to Crystal Palace breathed much-needed life into Sunderland's survival battle.

Now David Moyes' side could be catching Southampton at just the right time to inject further momentum.

Saints have lost six of their last seven Premier League games and it appears their focus is on picking up silverware in a fortnight at Wembley rather than picking up points.

Now enduring their fifth successive relegation scrap, Sunderland supporters recognise a golden opportunity when they see it.

They're also well accustomed to seeing their stars in stripes fluff their lines, so know better than to expect a comfortable afternoon at the Stadium of Light.

How tight is it at the bottom of the table?

Just two points separate the bottom six, with Sunderland currently propping up the division. They have a good chance to climb off the bottom and maybe even out of the relegation zone when they host an out-of-sorts Southampton this afternoon.

Leicester, meanwhile, could find themselves in the drop zone by the end of the weekend if results go against them.

50-1 to go down at the start of the season. Anyone stick a fiver on them?

It's the same deal on the back of the Star but the more interesting - and bizarre - story to me is the one under the headline 'Game of Phones row'. (Top punning by the way).

The story claims that Stoke boss Mark Hughes is furious that West Brom manager Tony Pulis allegedly left a voicemail on Ryan Shawcross' phone calling him a 'loser'.

Let's remember this is grown men we are talking about here...
