    Newcastle v Birmingham (19:45 GMT)

With a large squad and a few injuries, it's perhaps no surprise to see Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez makes eight changes from the team who beat Brentford at the weekend.

No place for Daryl Murphy though - indeed no place for a recognised striker at all. Though Jonjo Shelvey is back after a five-game ban for using racially abusive language.

Benitez also hands three debuts to defender Stuart Findlay, midfielder Dan Barlaser and winger Yasin Ben El-Mhanni.

Newcastle: Sels, Yedlin, Findlay, Hanley, Lazaar, Shelvey, Tiote, El-Mhanni, Barlaser, Ritchie, Gouffran.

Subs: Elliot, Dummett, Lascelles, Colback, Hayden, Perez, Murphy.

Meanwhile, Blues boss Gianfranco Zola will be desperate for a first win in charge - he's made six changes to the side who drew 0-0 with Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

He's giving youth a chance here too - with forwards Viv Solomon-Otabor, 21, Che Adams, 20, and defender Josh Dacres-Cogley, 20, all included.

Birmingham: Legzdins, Dacres-Cogley, Shotton, Robinson, Grounds, Kieftenbeld, Tesche, Davis, Cotterill, Adams, Solomon-Otabor.

Subs: Kuszczak, Gleeson, Fabbrini, Jutkiewicz, Brown, Spector, Morrison.

The last time Birmingham beat Newcastle was a 5-1 thrashing in an FA Cup third round replay at St James' Park in 2007. An omen, perhaps?

    • Newcastle are looking to avoid elimination from the FA Cup third round for the fifth straight season.
    • Birmingham have progressed from four of their last five FA Cup third round replays, but did lose the most recent one (1-2 v Leeds in January 2013).
    • The Magpies have scored just two goals in their last six FA Cup games, dating back to the start of 2012.
    • The Blues haven't won any of their last eight FA Cup games against teams in the second tier or above (D3 L5).
  9. Future 'out of my hands'published at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2017

    Lincoln 1-0 Ipswich

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has said his future is out of his hands after the "dreadful" FA Cup 1-0 third-round replay loss to Lincoln City.

Nathan Arnold's injury-time goal sent the Imps through at the expense of a side 59 places higher in the pyramid.

Ipswich are 14th in the Championship, without successive wins all season.

"If the club want to sack me, so be it, and if the fans are that sick of me then that makes life difficult for me at every game," said McCarthy.

"When we win it's OK, and when we lose it's 'I'm getting sacked in the morning'.

"I've had wonderful support from the fans, I'm not going to complain about them.

"That was disappointing for all of us, and even more so for the guys that have travelled up, paid their money and watched a dreadful performance."

  10. Southampton will score, they always score...published at 19:10 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2017

    • Southampton have progressed from 13 of their last 16 FA Cup replays against teams from a lower division.
    • Norwich, meanwhile, have won just one of their last 15 FA Cup games against Premier League opposition (D3 L11) – 2-1 v West Brom in January 2012.
    • The Saints have scored in all but one of their last 21 FA Cup games.
    • The Canaries are winless in their last three replays in the competition, last winning one in February 2007 (3-2 v Blackpool).

Plymouth Argyle v Liverpool (19:45 GMT)

Plymouth Argyle manager Derek Adams says he will not change his side's defensive tactics tonight.

Argyle defended deep, had only 23% possession and one shot on target in their 0-0 draw at Anfield on 8 January.

"We have to defend very well again," Adams told BBC Radio Devon.

"I think that we've shown in the first game that we can do that, and we'll have to do exactly the same."

The Scot, whose team are second in League Two, continued: "I can't see that we're going to be too cavalier on our approach. We've got to show respect to the Premier League team.

"They're third in the top flight and we've got to be careful of that."

    Southampton v Norwich (19:45 GMT)

Both Claude Puel and Alex Neil mumbled something in their pre-match pressers about "respecting" the FA Cup. Is eight changes by each manager really respecting the cup?! Hmmm.

Defender Maya Yoshida, midfielder James Ward-Prowse and striker Shane Long are the only Saints players retained from the weekend loss at Burnley by Puel.

Neil, who is getting flak from the fans after three wins in 16, keeps in Ivo Pinto, Russ Martin and Timm Klose from Saturday's defeat at lowly Rotherham.

Saints XI: Lewis, Martina, Yoshida, Stephens, McQueen, Clasie, Reed, Ward-Prowse, Sims, Long, Rodriguez.

Norwich XI: McGovern, Pinto, Bennet, Martin, Klose, Bassong, Godfrey, Josh Murphy, Brady, Prtichard, Lafferty.

    Plymouth v Liverpool (19:45 GMT)

Plymouth make one change from the side that earned a credible draw at Anfield in the first meeting between the two sides. Ryan Donaldson comes in for Gary Miller.

Plymouth: McCormick, Songo'o, Slew, Carey, Donaldson, Jervis, Bradley, Purrington, Threlkeld, Fox, Garita

Philippe Coutinho makes his first start since November for Liverpool. Daniel Sturridge is also named in the first XI as Jurgen Klopp makes two changes from the Anfield game and nine changes to the team that drew at Manchester United at the weekend.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Divock Origi are the only two players to retain their place in the side.

Liverpool team: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Lucas, Moreno, Stewart, Ejaria, Coutinho, Woodburn, Origi, Sturridge.

Last night scored highly on the FA Cup shock-o-meter.

Non-league sides Lincoln and Sutton both scored stoppage-time goals to dispose of Ipswich and Wimbledon respectively, while Blackpool of League Two joined in the fun to see off Barnsley in extra time.

But tonight we could have a shock which would blow those clean out of the water.

Plymouth Argyle, riding high in second place in League Two, welcome giants Liverpool to Home Park.

Liverpool have won the FA Cup on seven occasions, boast multi-millionaires in their squad and have a global fanbase in the hundreds of millions.

With 67 places between the sides, a Plymouth win would be remarkable.
