So, all over tonight in Berkshire and QPR will head back east to the capital along the M4 a happy camp after a third win in a row.

Read how they did it in James Law's match report.

    Reading 0-1 QPR

    Mick Gooding
Ex-Reading player/manager on BBC Radio Berkshire

"It all depends what you do with the possession.

"Reading had loads of possession tonight, but there was just one shot on target.

"Yann Kermorgant had the best chances, but there was so little else to mention throughout the evening and that has to be a concern.

"Teams will have watched that tonight and will think, they've had all that possession, but created nothing."

    Jamie MackieImage source, Rex Features

QPR match-winner Jamie Mackie on Sky Sports:

"It happens quite quickly when the ball falls to you at the back post in space as it did.

"But, I'm delighted with the goal but also with the boys and how they've adapted.

"There's so many different styles and formations to get used to, but we had a game-plan tonight and the boys tuck to it and we're absolutely delighted with the result."

    Reading 0-1 QPR

All over at the Madejski Stadium and QPR have the victory.

It's a third in a row for Ian Holloway's men who climb to 15th in the table. For Reading they miss the chance to close in on the top two with their second home defeat this season.

Jaap Stam barks orders, but still his Reading side trail into the final minute....

  7. Postpublished at 90+2 mins

    Reading 0-1 QPR

Searching ball into the QPR area once more from Reading but punched clear by Alex Smithies in emphatic fashion.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 90+1 mins

    Reading 0-1 QPR

Off goes goal-scorer Jamie Mackie for QPR and on comes Brendan Comley for the closing stages.

  9. INJURY TIMEpublished at 90 mins

Three minutes to be added on at the end of the 90....

  10. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Reading 0-1 QPR

QPR go forward once again, but Kazenga LuaLua can't get the ball under his feet and a half-chance for a break goes begging.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 88 mins

    Reading 0-1 QPR

Joey van den Berg the next man to see yellow for Reading and I'm not exactly sure why.

He tried to take a quick free-kick, but far too quick for the referee's liking.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 87 mins

    Reading 0-1 QPR

Liam Moore in the book for a late challenge and while he's added to the ref's notebook, Yann Kermorgant is back on with a new shirt which doesn't have a number on it.

A clash of heads from that last chance for him lead to a cut and some bleeding.

Another man who has had a good night for QPR is goalkeeper Alex Smithies.

He might not have been the busiest, but when called upon has been on hand to keep his side ahead.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 85 mins

    Reading 0-1 QPR

Second change for QPR sees Ryan Manning make way for Michael Doughty in midfield.

Decent night for Manning whose clever little touch with the outside of his left boot played Jamie Mackie in for the game's only goal so far.

  15. Postpublished at 83 mins

    Reading 0-1 QPR

Yann Kermorgant, who scored those two late goals at Bristol City, goes close again in this one.

Cross comes in, Kermorgant heads towards goal, but just wide.

  16. Postpublished at 80 mins

    Reading 0-1 QPR

And we are in the last 10 minutes of this one.

Reading left it late to come back and win 3-2 at Bristol City on the 2 January, they need a similar Lazarus-like effort now to close the gap on the Championship's top two.

  17. Postpublished at 78 mins

    Reading 0-1 QPR

Protests from Garath McCleary for an ambitious penalty are rightly waved away by the referee after he loses possession.

Still little doing for Reading as we approach the last 10 minutes.

  18. Postpublished at 75 mins

    Reading 0-1 QPR

Kazenga LuaLua's first touch in a QPR start is a low shot on target as the ball breaks to him on the edge of the box.

A bit of a warm-up effort though and a easy take for Ali Al Habsi.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 74 mins

    Reading 0-1 QPR

One change for either side as Idrissa Sylla is replaced Kazenga LuaLua for his QPR debut.

Meanwhile, Yakou Meite replaces John Swift for Reading.

  20. Postpublished at 72 mins

    Reading 0-1 QPR

Ridiculously open game this now as we move into the final stages.

Both sides giving possession back to each other and just failing to find the killer ball.
