So that brings an end to today's EFL action, and what a day it has been.

After five-goal thrillers at Derby and Barnsley, vitals wins for Nottingham Forest and Wigan plus Preston battling back to draw at Aston Villa, there have been plenty of talking points in the Championship.

It has also been another good day for in-form Fleetwood Town in League One and the top two in League Two, Doncaster and Plymouth.

Thanks for joining us and, wherever you are, have a good weekend.

We'll see you on Tuesday night when the EFL party rolls on.

  2. 'Naive defending'published at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2017

    Reaction: Aston Villa 2-2 Preston

Talking of Aston Villa, after his side's 2-2 draw at home to Preston, having led 2-0 at half-time, Villa boss Steve Bruce told BBC WM 95.6:

"We're frustrated because it is arguably the best we've played.

"Unfortunately, when (debutant Henri) Lansbury tired - and you could see he influence on the team - we let them back into it.

"We had opportunities to make it three. We should have seen it through.

"We were naive it our defending. We were still bombing forward when we were 2-0 up."

    FT: Barnsley 3-2 Leeds

Conor Hourihane's free-kick might have been the pick of the three Barnsley goals.

The Tykes captain is rumoured to be in line for a move to Aston Villa - he spoke to Sky Sports after tonight's game:

"It's a fantastic club Aston Villa, when a manager like Steve Bruce comes looking for you, it does turn your head a little bit," the 25-year-old said.

    FT: Barnsley 3-2 Leeds

That win was Barnsley's first in four games in all competitions, and they're now just four points outside the play-off places.

Leeds meanwhile are nine points outside the automatic promotion places - are their hopes of a top-two finish now over?

Barnsley hold on to make it five wins in their past six league games against Leeds.

Two goals from Chris Wood, the second from the penalty spot after a dubious decision from referee Mike Dean, weren't enough from the visitors, who miss out on the chance to go back into third place.

Tom Bradshaw, Ryan Kent and Conor Hourihane got the goals for Barnsley, who are back up to eighth.

    Barnsley 3-2 Leeds

Barnsley take some time off the clock, bringing Ryan Williams off the bench for the final stages, with Adam Armstrong taken off.

The Tykes have it in the left-hand corner - I can't imagine they'll be swinging any crosses in from here.

    Surely the equaliser... No!

Kemar Roofe is completely unmarked at the back post, but he can't divert the ball goalwards with his chest as it deflects ever so slightly off the head of a Barnsley defender.

    Just two minutes left now.

    Barnsley 3-2 Leeds

Pablo Hernandez tries to wiggle free and make space for a shot on the edge of the Barnsley box, but he can't escape the attention of Josh Scowen, who pinches the ball away before buying the foul from Hernandez.

They're into five minutes of added time now.

    Barnsley 3-2 Leeds

Another corner for Leeds - this one is too close to Adam Davies, who comes out to catch it under little pressure.

Barnsley struggled with their defending against set-pieces in the first half, but they've been solid as a rock in the second 45 minutes.

    Barnsley 3-2 Leeds

A necessary attacking move for Leeds, winger Stuart Dallas coming on for holding midfielder Liam Bridcutt.

Barnsley haven't looked in any danger since Leeds reduced the deficit to one goal. Dallas has just five minutes to change that.

    Barnsley 3-2 Leeds

Leeds are turning the screw a little more as the game enters its final stages, but Barnsley see off two corners.

Garry Monk still has two substitutions left. Surely he can't wait too much longer to make a change?

    Barnsley 3-2 Leeds

That was unfortunately the last we'll see from Tom Bradshaw, who has impressed with his movement tonight.

On comes Adam Hammill for the remaining ten minutes or so, plus whatever time Mike Dean decides to add after the 90 minutes are up.

    Barnsley 3-2 Leeds

Fewer than 15 minutes now for Leeds to rescue something from this match, but it's Barnsley who are continuing to apply more of the pressure.

Rob Green has to react sharply to deny Tom Bradshaw a second goal as he dives at the striker's feet.

Bradshaw is hurt in the collision. Hopefully he's able to carry on.

    Conor HourihaneImage source, Rex Features

Appeals for a penalty from Barnsley as Josh Scowen is felled by Eunan O'Kane on the edge of the Leeds box.

The foul was outside the area, and United escape with conceding just a free-kick, with a yellow card shown to O'Kane.

Conor Hourihane tries to repeat his earlier heroics with the free-kick, but he sends this effort over the bar.

    Chris Wood

Chris Wood steps up and drills the penalty past Adam Davies, his 19th goal of the season.

The replays show the handball was clearly outside the area - it's at least a yard out of it - but Mike Dean waves away the protests.

Paul Heckingbottom will be fuming if that decision ends up costing Barnsley any points.

  16. Penalty to Leedspublished at 67 mins

    Barnsley 3-1 Leeds

Marc Roberts handballs in the Barnsley area, and Leeds have a chance to get back into the game...

    Barnsley 3-1 Leeds

Perhaps Tom Bradshaw will be the man to take the departed Sam Winnall's mantle as Barnsley's leading attacking threat?

The Welshman has struggled for goals since signing from Walsall, but his record with the Saddlers shows how much of a threat he can be when he's on form.

He's shown good movement all game long tonight, and with Ryan Kent in sterling form on the wing, he's getting plenty of chances too.

    Barnsley 3-1 Leeds

Still Barnsley press, with Tom Bradshaw heading over from James Bree's cross from the right.

Bradshaw, not for the first time, got ahead of Leeds centre-back Kyle Bartley with apparent ease.

How the visitors are missing the suspended Pontus Jansson's presence at the back tonight.

  19. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Barnsley 3-1 Leeds

It's hard to believe this is the same Leeds team which beat Derby last weekend - they've been outplayed by Barnsley tonight.

Garry Monk makes his first change as he attempts to salvage something from the match, a straight swap with Eunan O'Kane coming on for Ronaldo Vieira in central midfield.

    Conor Hourihane

If this isthe last game in a Barnsley shirt for Conor Hourihane, what a way that is to say goodbye.

Kemar Roofe concedes a free-kick about 25 yards out, which Aston Villa target Hourihane whips left-footed into the top corner of the Leeds goal.

That is as good a free-kick as you're ever likely to see at this level. Unstoppable.
