    Brentford v Eastleigh

For those of you who love nothing better than a dollop of statistics on a Saturday morning, here are a few on Brentford's tie with Eastleigh:

    • The Bees have failed to score in their last two FA Cup matches - they haven't failed to score in three in a row since November 1969.
    • Brentford have won their last two FA Cup games against non-league opposition (2-0 v Boreham Wood in 2012 and 5-0 v Staines in 2013).
    • The Spitfires have scored in all 11 of their FA Cup games beyond the qualifying stage.

    Brentford v Eastleigh

And to National League Eastleigh, who are looking to reach the fourth round for the first time in their history.

The Spitfires are making their second appearance in the third round, having been knocked out by Bolton following a replay at this stage last season.

Should Brentford be worried? Well, they have been knocked out of the FA Cup at the third-round stage in both of the last two seasons, despite being drawn at home.

    Sutton United v Wimbledon

Anyway, back to all things Sutton United and Wimbledon.

League One side Wimbledon have never reached the fourth round in their 15-year history, having lost to Liverpool in their sole previous appearance at this stage in 2014-15.

Those of you who know your history will know that Wimbledon will be re-visiting the ground where they played their first game as a club, losing 4-0 to Sutton United on 10 July 2002.

And here's a stat for you: The Dons are the top-scoring team in the FA Cup so far this season, netting 11 goals in three games.

    Sutton United v Wimbledon

Thee are five non-league teams remaining in the competition, one of them being Sutton United.

National League side Sutton are looking to reach the FA Cup fourth round for the third time in their history.

When did they last achieved that feat? I can tell you, in 1988-89 when they famously beat Coventry City, then in the top flight, 2-1 in the third round.

    Wycombe Wanderers v Stourbridge

How do Stourbridge feel about taking centre stage? They have not lost a game in all competitions since October and their 54-year-old boss is optimistic that is not a run about to end.

“We are very respectful of Wycombe, they are on a great run themselves and they have flown up League Two, and they are certainly going to be a tough nut to crack," says Gary Hackett.

“But hopefully, it will be another case of the magic of The FA Cup. We are the underdogs and we just have to try and create that major upset that makes the competition so special.

“Our recent form has been good, we’re unbeaten in 13 and we’ve managed to sustain some healthy league form in light of playing some massive FA Cup games."

    Wycombe Wanderers v Stourbridge

Stourbridge, known as The Glassboys, are the lowest-ranked team left in the FA Cup this season, playing in level 7 in English league pyramid.

The team they will try to conquer are Wycombe, who notched their joint-largest margin of victory in the FA Cup in the previous round, beating Chesterfield 5-0 to set up this tie.

But there is hope for the underdog as Wycombe are looking to progress past the third round for the first time since a run in 2001 which saw them reach the FA Cup semi-finals for the only time in their history.

The FA Cup third round is when the spotlight shines on clubs who are usually in the shadows, on teams who go again and again without making the headlines.

Cue Stourbridge, a team in the seventh tier of Northern Premier League Premier Division.

This is Stourbridge's first appearance in the third round of the FA Cup, knocking out third-tier Northampton to get here.

I was involved in a school World Cup tournament in 2010. My team (Portugal) got to the final against Holland. I scored the winning penalty in off the crossbar in the shoot out and finally knew how it felt to be popular!

Not remembering the winning goal is definitely a start.....

Apparently I once scored the winner in the Downpatrick area under 18 cup semi final against our fierce rivals despite having been knocked out 5 minutes beforehand. I can't remember anything about that day and our team lost the final while I was in hospital with concussion.
