There is under an hour to go until the deadline - but Sam Allardyce suggests there could still be further in comings at Crystal Palace.

"My phone is buzzing so I'll check in with Steve (Parish) and see if anything is going to happen in the last 50 mins," he said following his first win as a Crystal Palace manager tonight.

"(Arouna) Kone is a possibility as well as (Mamadou) Sakho from Liverpool, but I don't know where we are with them.

    "It's been a distraction today."

    Southampton

Southampton director of football Les Reed said: “We are delighted to have secured the signing of Manolo Gabbiadini, ahead of a number of other clubs who were interested in him.

“We have followed his progress for a significant amount of time and have worked hard behind the scenes to agree a deal for him this month.

“With Jay Rodriguez, Shane Long and Nathan Redmond all in good form, and Charlie Austin making encouraging progress in his return from injury, Manolo is another exciting addition to our attacking line-up ahead of the final months of the season, as well as for future campaigns.”

A smattering of late deals then. The Saints signing could well be the biggest of the day. They needed forwards badly.

Sometimes it is not easy for clubs to get everything on a deal completed and sent over to the Premier League by the 23:00 GMT deadline. The deal sheet allows a club to confirm that a deal has been reached and to allow for additional time to submit the remaining documentation.

The sheet cannot be used until two hours before the deadline and needs to arrive fully completed before the transfer window closes. Once the sheet arrives, clubs have an additional two hours after the window closes to submit the full paperwork.
