Norwich midfielder Robbie Brady is on the verge of completing a club record transfer to Burnley.

With Yanic Wildschut about to move to the Canaries from Wigan, Norwich gave permission for Brady to travel to Burnley.

Although the transfer is not yet completed, the major part is now done.

It is anticipated the fee for the 25-year-old Republic of Ireland international will be in excess of the £10.5m Burnley paid Derby for Jeff Hendrick in August.

Odion Ighalo is the latest to make a big-money move to China.

    Diego CostaImage source, Getty Images

Steven Flynn, barrister at St Johns Buildings, who has been involved in a number of high profile Premier League transfers, has given his view to BBC Sport about the trend of big money transfers to China.

“As we have seen with the likes of Oscar, Carlos Tevez and John Obi Mikel heading to China in big money moves, there is no specific complexity in terms of completing a transfer. However, the recent confirmation from the Chinese Football Association that it would limit the number of foreign players permitted to play in the 2017 season is likely to have an impact on the number of deals. While the rumoured transfer of Diego Costa to China may happen, there will not be the mass exodus of players from the Premier League that some feared.

“When it comes to the transfer itself, there is always a greater element of risk in China than doing the deal with a European club. In the likes of Spain or Germany, the seller is usually given the security of a long-standing personal relationship with the buyer, while the player knows that he is joining a club steeped in history and capable of honouring whatever agreement is made. In China, that security is not yet established."
