Kasper Schmeichel has added celebrating like his old man to saving like his old man. A very emotional night on many levels for Leicester's players and fans.

Pure speculation about that Danny Drinkwater celebration of course, but you do wonder.

'Shakey, give us a wave' is the song from the stands as Leicester continue to give Liverpool the runaround. The men in red have had no answer to this examination so far.

    Outstanding goal!

Another of the stars of 2016 rediscovers his 'A' game as Danny Drinkwater doubles the lead with a rocket from 25 yards. Marc Albrighton's cross from the left is a tester and James Milner can only head it out to Drinkwater.

Like Jamie Vardy for the first goal, the England man shows remarkable composure to wait and wait for the ball to drop enough, and then lashes it with the outside of his foot away from Simon Mignolet and right into the corner.

As he runs off to celebrate he either offers a prayer to the skies, or a dedication to a certain someone...

Riyad Mahrez puts in a cross but it's overhit and under appreciated. I have to agree with Aaron there, Liverpool and Stoke aren't doing much to promote the idea of a 'warm weather' training break.

G Pearson: It's a case of damned if they do and damned if they don't tonight for Leicester.

Salman Jaffer: Are Liverpool still in Spain? This is absolutely dreadful.

Aaron Theaker: I don't care what the players and staff say, with a performance like this I'm convinced Ranieri lost the dressing room

There's an awfully long way to go but as it stands Leicester are up to 15th in the table, with Big Sam's Big Crystal Palace sliding back into the drop zone.

Jamie Vardy is having fun up against Lucas, skinning him easily for pace again but he can't get a shot off.

Just like old times as Jamie Vardy races clear on to a through ball and beats Simon Mignolet to put Leicester City ahead. It was the magic touch and composure he has struggled to find this season.

The King Power Stadium is rocking and while there is huge support for the departed Claudio Ranieri, Leicester's fans have been right behind their team from the first whistle.

What a ball that was from Albrighton. It was absolutely perfect.

Jamie Vardy put that past Mingolet with such great authority.

What a transformation! And fair play to the fans, there has been no mention of Ranieri yet - they are right behind this team.

    Leicester 1-0 Liverpool

All credit to Jamie Vardy. He's had a stinker of a season - not alone there - but has scored clinically in Seville and Leicester in a few days. They could prove vital.

As may that! Big save at the other end as Kasper Schmeichel spreads himself at the feet of Philippe Coutinho and smothers his shot!

    Jamie Vardy

Rewind the clock! Jamie Vardy is having a party once more, it's 2016 all over again!

Two goals in a week for the striker and he finishes superbly. Gini Wijnaldum gives the ball away in the centre circle, a sloppy pass, and Marc Albrighton plays Vardy in with a peach of a first-time pass. The weight is perfect, Vardy's wait is perfect as he takes all the time he has and passes into the net.

    Huge relief around the stadium...

Danny Simpson puts in a very good tackle to dispossess Philippe Coutinho as the Brazilian weaved into the penalty area, the former Manchester United man rolls his ankle on the turf as he does so but a bit of the magic sponge and some juice and he's right as rain.

Robert Huth remains a nuisance in both penalty areas, heading on another long throw before recovering moments later to charge down Philippe Coutinho's shot with the side of his face.

That leads to a possible counter but Wilfred Ndidi's pass to Jamie Vardy is undercooked. Last season...

It's always tough to accuse any professional of not trying, but the Foxes do seem to have raised their game so far tonight. The first goal, and any reaction to it, will probably be decisive though.
