What an amazing piece of skill from Jamie Vardy there - the turn was amazing but he didn't quite catch it right.

I'll tell you what. He would have scored that last season.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 20 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Liverpool

Craig Shakespeare is in animated mood down on the touchline as Leicester have a great chance! Again they go back to basics, lumping it downfield and asking Jamie Vardy to chase it.

Chase he does, and more than that as a wonderful first touch takes it out of the sky and past a defender, but then with the ball bouncing at an awkward height his finish is really tame and straight at Simon Mignolet.

Again, last season they were flying in. In fact he scored Leicester's goal of the season in this fixture last year, a dipping hit from 25 yards.

Good noise still inside the King Power, though I didn't hear any indication of a supposed minute's applause in the 16th minute. There are too many of those anyway.

Liverpool win a free-kick but it carries no threat.

I wonder if Claudio Ranieri is watching tonight? If not it's University Challenge then Britain's Pompeii. Top night in.

David Thackeray: Disgraceful from Leicester. If they had played before with half of this effort Claudio would still be there.

  6. CLOSE!published at 14 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Liverpool

A win by any means necessary is what Leicester need tonight, and at the moment a set-piece looks the most likely source. Robert Huth has a free header from a corner but slams it over the top. Got to do better.

Last year at White Hart Lane they were sailing into the top corner.

Leicester City have flown at Liverpool in a high-octane start that has pushed Jurgen Klopp's side on to the back foot.

Jamie Vardy set the tone with a tackle that took out Sadio Mane but escaped punishment. Liverpool are just trying to settle things down and enjoy some possession of their own.

    Leicester 0-0 Liverpool

Liverpool's first attack is a beauty, Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane painting a triangle inside the penalty area and sliding a cross into the middle, Joel Matip of all people is in the centre-forward position waiting for a tap in but Wes Morgan slides in to clear.

Every time Liverpool are on the ball, there are about six or seven Leicester City players buzzing around them immediately. Where were these players when Claudio Ranieri needed them?

Another nasty looking challenge as Sadio Mane this time dishes it out, stretching and catching Wilfred Ndidi on the calf. Again there's no decision.

    Very lively start.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 7 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Liverpool

PFA Player of the Year - a future pub quiz question? - Riyad Mahrez gets the ball for the first time on the right but he gives it away with a misguided crossfield pass.

Chance though! The ball comes back in, is flicked on and Shinji Okazaki's flying header needs a strong save from Simon Mignolet. That was squeezing in.

Alright, we are only five minutes in but this is a different Leicester that we've seen in the past few weeks. They are winning second balls, they are pushing forward - it's an aggressive tempo from them.

It's back to basics stuff from Leicester so far, and it's working. Christian Fuchs hurls in a massive throw and Robert Huth's flicked header is on target and needs Simon Mignolet to make the save.

Bright start from the Foxes. A corner is headed in by Robert Huth, back out to the edge of the box and Wilfred Ndidi volleys well over the top. Good tempo to the opening.

Sadio Mane is fine by the way after that scrape with Jamie Vardy.

The first chants of 'going down' from the away end. If you'd asked me during the 1990s who would win the Premier League first, Liverpool or Leicester, I would have been very, very, very wrong. On many occasions.

That is a really bad tackle. Studs showing. He has nicked the ball but his studs scrape Mane's shin. Terrible tackle from Jamie Vardy.

Jamie Vardy goes in hard for a 50/50 and leaves Sadio Mane in a heap, inside 30 seconds. His foot came in over the top of the ball and a few Liverpool players are not too happy with that.

    No foul given.
