  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 89 mins

    Liverpool 2-1 Burnley

That should be that! Liverpool work the ball neatly, Emre Can chips it over the last defender to Sadio Mane, his first touch isn't perfect and he has to shovel a shot away from under his feet, but Tom Heaton is equal to it and pushes it over.

Liverpool break away, catching Burnley with just two men back but Ben Woodburn's cutback is blocked away for a corner.

Burnley have got nine men in the Liverpool half, you can't fault them for giving this a go. Unfortunately Ben Mee shanks the ball out of play.

Liverpool are the sort of team that turn up against Manchester City next week and play them off the park.

The sides who sit in - those are the sides who Liverpool don't like playing.

Ashley Barnes provokes a reaction from Ragnar Klavan as he picks him up from the floor by his ears, after Robbie Brady slammed a shot well over the top. Burnley are going to stick on two away points all season by the look of it.

Lucas is on for Divock Origi as Liverpool look to shut this one out. They have not played well at all this afternoon but they are within sight of victory.

Burnley send on Sam Vokes in place of Andre Gray.

Alan Green and Chris Sutton's commentary line went all 'Eastern Europe 1980s' there, lots of distortion on the line and we've lost them for a moment.

Another strong punch from Simon Mignolet brings rich applause from Anfield. He's been examined by some direct balls into the box and has come through well so far.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 72 mins

George Boyd must have run a half marathon or more today, he's been up and down the line all day. He comes off for the last 20 minutes or so with record signing Robbie Brady on.

Memo to Liverpool's defenders: DO NOT give away free-kicks on the edge of the area.

Liverpool are starting to dictate the pace of the game now, for the first time this afternoon.

I think the second goal has settled them down a little bit.

We haven't seen much of Ben Woodburn since he came on and was parked out on the left wing but that is nice, the 17-year-old shaping in a dangerous cross toward the far post but not completing to Divock Origi.

Sean Dyche is now on the sideline barking out orders, the Clarets are seeing more of the ball and are pinning Liverpool back in their own half. The roles are somewhat reversed.

Simon Mignolet does really well to come and punch clear, clattering Ben Mee in the process.

Liverpool have scored with both of their shots on target this afternoon, and if they do take three points they will be five points ahead of Arsenal, having played two games more.

The race and chase for the top four will go on for two months yet.

I'm not convinced the keeper did everything he could there. It was the best part of 30 yards out and I think Heaton will be disappointed he didn't take another step. It wasn't the strongest of shots.

But it's good to win ugly sometimes.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 63 mins

    Liverpool 2-1 Burnley

Emre Can is booked straight from the restart - and there's a chance for Burnley!

The free-kick is nodded down by Ben Mee and Ashley Barnes has a shot from 10 yards. Great block by Ragnar Klavan!

Can finds the cornerpublished at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2017

    Liverpool 2-1 Burnley

There didn't appear to be much on as a throw is rolled to Emre Can about 30 yards from goal, but the Germany international bends a low shot around Ben Mee and right into the bottom corner.

It wasn't the cleanest of strikes, and Tom Heaton will be asked questions, but if you see it from behind the goal that was a superbly accurate strike and Heaton just couldn't get there.

Philippe Coutinho is replaced by teenager Ben Woodburn and that's no real surprise. His number 10 has been more of a one today.

Philippe Coutinho hits the first man with one corner and then puts a second one clean out the back of the penalty area. Not his day.
