    Liverpool 1-1 Burnley

Joey Barton bodychecks Gini Wijnaldum on the edge of the box and the former Manchester City man goes into the book. Harsh.

A chance for Liverpool though - but it comes to nothing and is cleared by Barton for a corner.

Liverpool make a mess of their own goal-kick and that's the camel's back breaking for one chap close to the microphone. He's furious.

    Liverpool look shy of ideas.

If Liverpool want to finish in the top four this season, they have got to start putting these so-called smaller sides away.

I can't remember Coutinho ever playing as badly as this.

    Liverpool 1-1 Burnley

Philippe Coutinho prevents another Liverpool attack from continuing with an errant pass inside, easy for me to say from here but that was a simple pass. He's been really bad today.

Burnley cause more panic from a throw in, Ashley Barnes is making a nuisance of himself and ends up shooting over from a tight angle.

Ben Mee gets a shot away as Liverpool fail to clear convincingly from another set-piece, before Joel Matip defends resolutely to stop George Boyd from getting a cross in to the area.

They are indeed. Much more energy in their harrying and passing so far. It always strikes me as odd when a team need reminding to play with some tempo.

In these early exchanges in this half, Liverpool are showing a little bit more intent and aggression.

    Liverpool 1-1 Burnley

Liverpool are content to leave their two centre-backs up against Burnley's front two but every time the Clarets clear the ball Andre Gray looks to get a clear run on goal. Simon Mignolet has to come out and sweep up from the latest ball downfield.

A bright start from Burnley once again as Ashley Barnes rifles a shot wide on the spin from just outside the box.

Liverpool get us under way then in the second half. Emre Can lamps the ball clean out of play.

Here come the sides, Jurgen Klopp sending his men out with a rattle of applause and a pat on the backside for Gini Wijnaldum.

    A different side?

  12. A lack of options?published at 17:00 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2017

Should Liverpool need to make changes in the second half, their attacking options are not exactly plentiful.

Here's the full bench: Karius, Gomez, Moreno, Lucas, Woodburn, Wilson, Alexander-Arnold.

  13. Bad news for Spurspublished at 16:58 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2017

Good news for the rest of the top six?

Harry Kane may have suffered a repeat of the ankle injury that kept him out for five Premier League games earlier this season, his Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino fears.

Kane had to be replaced after seven minutes of the  6-0 FA Cup quarter-final win over Millwall  on Sunday.

He was hurt when defender Jake Cooper blocked his shot close to the byeline.

"It looks like last time against Sunderland, it was the same ankle," Pochettino told BBC Sport.

"We need to assess some more and after tomorrow [Monday] we will see."

Just because their running stats are still sky high, doesn't mean Liverpool aren't tired - decision making and execution will go first.

It has been such an ugly performance from Klopp's side.

Burnley will be going in at half time wondering how they are not in front at this point.

They have been snapping at Liverpool and winning every second ball.

Now you have to wonder, is that goal going to change the momentum of the game?

That means it's still nearly two years since Burnley led an away game in the Premier League at half time (see 34 mins entry).

    Apologies Clarets fans.

They haven't deserved it but it's the first time I've seen some real slick, one touch play in the middle of the park.

A neat finish and Liverpool are back in it.

Liverpool's first real effort on goal puts them back on level terms. A cross from the left is flicked on by Georginio Wijnaldum , it hits Ben Mee on the chest and falls back at the Dutchman's feet.

He shows fine composure to wait for Mee and Stephen Ward to commit to a block, and then side-foots past Tom Heaton from bang in front of goal. A let off.
