Charlie Wyke has done his part to endear himself to Bradford supporters on debut after signing from Carlisle, heading in to make it 1-1 against Gillingham after Josh Wright had put the Gills in front.

Elsewhere, Northampton have gone 1-0 up at Walsall thanks to John-Joe O'Toole's strike, while Marcus Maddison has given Peterborough the lead at Port Vale.

We've had just one goal in the opening half an hour in the Championship - but there've been a couple of near misses at Ashton Gate and Oakwell.

Tammy Abraham for the Robins and Matty James for the Tykes have both fired just wide as they look to put their teams ahead, but it remains goalless in both games.

There's more bad news for the Railwaymen as well, as centre-back George Ray has been forced off with an injury.

Meanwhile, Nathan Delfouneso's return to Blackpool continues to look a good move, as having scored on his debut against Yeovil two weeks ago, he's now set up Jamille Matt to tap in to put the Tangerines 1-0 up against Colchester.

It's been a difficult couple of months for Bristol City.

The Robins were on an eight-match losing in the league before recording a draw against promotion chasing Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday.

Lee Johnson's men might have dropped to just three points above the relegation zone in the Championship but the club and supporters of a certain vintage can recall far, far worse times.

This time 35 years ago eight players agreed to tear up their contracts to save the club from bankruptcy.
