    I know.

  2. BALE: RED MISTpublished at 51 mins

    Real Madrid 1-1 Las Palmas

    What was he doing?

For some reason, Gareth Bale has a couple of nibbles at Viera's ankles as the Las Palmas man tries to get away from him.

Viera reacts by pushing Bale before the ex-Tottenham man uses great force to shove his opponent. Ref Fernandez Borbalan shows him a straight red. No other choice really.

    Strange behaviour from the Welshman.

Anyway, Real are down to 10.

Real players are talking among themselves in the tunnel.

    I'm trying to lip read..

Morata: "I knew he'd go. He saw the Leicester job come up..."

Ramos: "Yeah, maybe. I think Lee Johnson might be teetering at Bristol City though."

Nikul 11: He wants to leave while having his reputation intact. Understandable. Wouldn't be surprised if Barca go slightly left-field.

Matt Tallis: Highly unlikely but would be great to see Conte go to Barca, they only need improving defensively

Who is set for (arguably) the biggest job in world football?

More from Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu:

    Quote Message

Luis Enrique has given us successes, but still can bring us more. The players are motivated to do it.

If things remain as they are at the Bernabeu, Barca will lead La Liga by a point from Real going into the weekend, although Los Blancos will still have a game in hand.

It's worth bearing in mind that the Catalan giants are on an 18-match unbeaten streak in La Liga.

    Tough lot to please eh?

Just as well because of that breaking news...

Mauricio Lemos - promising 22-year-old Uruguayan defender - produces a great challenge to put off Alvaro Morata from tucking in Cristiano Ronaldo's low square ball from the right.

    Barcelona 6-1 Sporting Gijon

So earlier, Barcelona produced a superb display to defeat Sporting Gijon 6-1. It followed a great 2-1 win at Atletico at the weekend.

So Enrique announcing he would be leaving didn't seem to be on the cards.

Does the news come as a surprise, or was it a matter of when and not if?
