Terrific pressure from Southampton at the end of the half. They kept Bournemouth on the back foot and forced them to defend that 18 yard box.

It started well, then got worse, then got better.

Great effort from Rodriguez! Technique was perfect.
Southampton 0-0 Bournemouth
Save! Artur Boruc having to fly to his left to deny Jay Rodriguez. Ball over the top, Rodriguez running on and hitting first time. Boruc has to stick out a left paw to keep it goalless. Getting better.
Southampton 0-0 Bournemouth
Good lord. Do not get in the way of Fraser Forster. Ever. Ball into the box, Forster barrels out like Augustus Gloop chasing chocolate and completely poleaxes Jack Stephens. Stephens is laid out, but will be OK.
Southampton 0-0 Bournemouth
Dusan Tadic again, this time from the edge of the box. He doesn't hit the target, obviously, but does clip the outside of the post. Progress.
Southampton 0-0 Bournemouth
Wait, I thought Peterborough's rivals were Cambridge?

Neal Brett: The Northampton derby has always been Peterborough, but the A45-A605 derby is hardly poetic
Southampton 0-0 Bournemouth

Saints have stopped the supply of crosses into the box for Tadic here which has allowed Bournemouth to get back into this.
It has become much more evenly balanced here whereas in the first 20 minutes, I thought Southampton would easily take the points.
Southampton 0-0 Bournemouth
Very, very close to the opener. A Bournemouth corner causes havoc, Andrew Surman pokes the ball past Fraser Forster, but Steven Davis is on the whitewash to clear. Surman's hurt himself clattering Forster, too.

Saints v Bournemouth is not a derby game, only Cherries fans would like to think so. Saints v Pompey - now that's the derby on south coast no matter which league both are in!

Southampton 0-0 Bournemouth
This match started with promise, but has been stodgy for about 10 minutes or so. It was my fault for saying that Southampton games tend to guarantee goals. At least noise levels have been re-cranked.

Cherries are just beginning to come into the game now. Southampton have had the better chances but it looks like momentum is building for Bournemouth.

David Ljunggren: What a dire game this is. Premiership? You're having a laugh.
Southampton 0-0 Bournemouth
This is better from Bournemouth, who earn back-to-back corners down their left. Lots of posturing in the middle, a big fist from Fraser Forster and rising drive over the bar from Dan Gosling.
Southampton 0-0 Bournemouth

BBC Radio Solent commentator
It's a bit of a "12:30 atmosphere" here. Not really that of a derby in my opinion.
Southampton 0-0 Bournemouth
You can't both be right?

Tony: Have you never heard of the M69 derby between Coventry and Leicester??
English Tony: Coventry's rivals - Aston Villa surely? At least, when they were both in the same league.
Southampton 0-0 Bournemouth
Ooofff, almost an opening for Joshua King, who is played through on the left but doesn't have the wheels to get away from Saints full-back Jack Stephens. This time last year he was on loan at Coventry, so would be a good man to ask about their local rivals.
