  1. Bolton to cut the gap to the Blades?published at 11:47 British Summer Time 1 April 2017

    League One preview

It seems Sheffield United's six-year stay in League One is at an end. The Blades are top of the table, 13 points clear of third place with six games remaining.

They are not in action on Saturday, so second-place Bolton can put pressure on them in the title hunt when they host Chesterfield. A win for the Trotters would close the gap to four points.

The two teams – rivals on the pitch – came together to visit five Chinese Labour Corps graves at Anfield Cemetery, which is situated between the two clubs.

With Craig Shakespeare bidding to become the first British manager to win his first four Premier League games, Leicester suddenly look to be only a couple of victories away from safety.

How they would love to have those points chalked up before tackling Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Stoke are having another very creditable season; ninth place again at the moment - the position in which they have finished each of the last three seasons.

Mark Hughes would have particularly enjoyed their point  at Manchester City  in their last away game, but would probably concede that they have, at times, been too accommodating on their travels - registering wins at only Hull, Watford and Sunderland.

Hull City have never suffered relegation directly after promotion to the Premier League. If they're to avoid that outcome in May it's clear their escape route centres on continued home success.

Since becoming head coach, Marco Silva has taken 10 points from a possible 12 at the KCOM Stadium. However, Hull have lost 12 of their last 13 on the road.

Fellow strugglers Middlesbrough are in town on Wednesday, but first the visit of a badly out-of-form West Ham side who have lost three games in a row and haven't won since 4 February.

Treading water in mid-table, the Hammers are hampered by an ever-lengthening injury list and are leaking far too many goals... opportunity knocks for Marco's men.

Rotherham can be relegated to League One today if the Millers fail to beat Fulham, or if other results go against them.

Leaders Newcastle will look to strengthen their place at the top of the Championship when they host second-bottom Wigan, while second-place Brighton are at home to Blackburn, who are also in the relegation zone.

Perhaps the biggest game inside the top six involves Reading and Leeds. The two sides are fifth and fourth respectively and meet each other at 17:30 BST.

Spurs have never had as many points at this stage of a Premier League season but they know they have to keep on winning.

It was an important psychological step for them to get over the line  last time out against Southampton  without Harry Kane. Dele Alli, who has 11 goals in his last 12 league games, looks ready to assume more responsibility.

A glance at Burnley's hugely impressive home record will remind Spurs of the task ahead at Turf Moor.

Sean Dyche's team will be delighted to be back in Lancashire, having played their last four games on the road, and Tottenham are only too aware that they are a different proposition at home.

  12. Wembley way?published at 11:22 British Summer Time 1 April 2017

    Burnley v Tottenham (15:00 BST)

Tottenham now have until the end of April to decide whether they are going to play their home games at Wembley next season.

The Premier League club's new ground is being built next to their existing home.

Spurs said their "intention remains" to move to Wembley for 2017-2018, but said they want to "give ourselves greater flexibility before making the final decision on the decommissioning of White Hart Lane".

Spurs travel to Burnley today, having lost only once in their last 13 matches. They'll be looking to close the gap on Chelsea at the top of the table.

    Watford v Sunderland (15:00 BST)

Sunderland will desperately be hoping Jermain Defoe's almost inevitable goal  on his England return  can kick-start a glut of them at club level, after what constitutes a mini barren patch by his high-scoring standards.

But others need to step up too in order to get the ball to him more often, as Defoe's been provided with hardly any opportunities during his - and the team's - four-match run without a goal.

Despite a seven-point cushion above the drop zone, there's some worry around Watford after just two league wins since mid-December has caused them to slip from seventh to 14th.

Walter Mazzarri insists he's 'not too concerned' about their position in the table - lose this one and that view might have to change.

Comedian and actor Omid Djalili, who is taking on Lawro in this weekend's Premier League predictions, says: " I like the bald look but I would like to get the name and number of the person who did that because it is the greatest. I did not even realise it was a transplant - it was only when I saw pictures of him playing for Juventus that I realised he was as bald as a coot.

"I don't know how he has done it, or maintained it - the only other good one is Al Pacino, who has had a very good one since the 1980s. Maybe the same person did his hair too?

"As for the game, I think it is going to be very entertaining. Palace are going to come out fighting and I am expecting a strong first half from them, but I don't think they will score and Chelsea will run out easy winners. 2-0."

Walking into that building it is amazing to see the smiles on the players' faces and credit to Conte for coming to the Premier League, changing the system and getting it to work. I remember Van Gaal tried to bring that system at Manchester United and found it difficult. Conte found the right XI and they are doing really well."

Chelsea v Crystal Palace (15:00 BST)

Ten games to go and ten points clear. It's all looking pretty rosy for Chelsea.

They face Crystal Palace today and could claim an 11th consecutive Premier League victory at Stamford Bridge.

Palace, meanwhile, could win four consecutive games without conceding a single goal for the first time in the Premier League.

I checked out Palace's run-in yesterday. It's pretty daunting. They've still got to play ALL of the top six in the league.

Sam Allardyce's side are currently four points clear of danger and if anyone is the master of survival, it's Big Sam.
