There's six games on Wednesday night, with Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal all in action. We'll be back to follow every twist and turn once again.

Final bit from Mourinho before we finish for tonight: "I tell you because I told him already. Luke Shaw had a good performance but it was his body with my brain. 

"He was in front of me and I was making every decision for him. The communication was possible because we were very close. I was thinking for him - when to close, when to go inside. He cannot play with my understanding of the game, he must think and he must accelerate the process - 21 years old is old enough to have a better understanding of the game but his contribution was good.

"It was good for him and he goes today with a positive feeling because his performance was very positive."

More from Jose Mourinho: "It was Luke Shaw's body with my brain. I made the decisions for him. But his contribution was good."

Everton boss Ronald Koeman was asked in the post-match news conference about Kevin Mirallas snubbing his offer of a handshake when he was substituted.

He said: "I can understand players if you sub them they are a bit disappointed but the way he reacted was not a team in my opinion and I will speak with him about that."

Sunderland boss David Moyes: "I'm really disappointed we didn't get something out of the game. 

"We played really well for 60 minutes. if we'd been in front, nobody could have complained.

"At Everton we were 1-0 down and hit the bar - like today. Small margins are important. We just didn't get it today. It's desperate now. 

"I felt we had to win one of these last two games. The boys have given a good go of it. We have maybe lacked a bit of quality. 

"We'll keep going again - it's still in our hands to stay up."

On the club backing him after saying he might slap a female reporter: "I'm just grateful for the club's support. As far as I'm concerned the matter's finished."

Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare: "We weren't at our best tonight but they most important thing was the win. 

"We know we can play better than that. We're trying to put as many points on the board as we can. 

"There's been no talk of it [the Atletico Madrid Champions League game]. We haven't wanted to talk about it.

"Islam Slimani has had to be patient. Over the last few weeks, he hasn't played much. He showed what he's capable of tonight."

On Luke Shaw: "He has lots of potential but the football brain and the professional brain has to be with the talent. He has to change his football brain. he was doing things in the second half when he was reacting to my voice. If he was on the other side for sure he would not do it. I think he has a future here but Manchester United cannot wait. We need the kids to grow up."

Because of that we are in the position we are. We build well but we don't score enough goals, we don't kill off enough opponents and at the end of this season I think we will be punished by that."

Prioritise Europa League? "When we keep losing players I will have to."

Jose Mourinho, speaking to BBC Sport: "We scored two legal goals but I tell you with a smile on my face because I am not upset with the linesman. A really difficult decision for him, only video assistant replay could help this.

"After pressure, after pressure, after pressure the goal finally arrived and at least you don't have the feeling of defeat.

"They were taking off attacking players and putting on defenders. They were inviting us to attack but they can do that because Lukaku is so powerful he can be dangerous.

"The players gave everything. The performance from a football point of view was not good but I am very pleased with the effort."

Sunderland are doomed I'm afraid to say. 

It's been a strange year for them and that's come on the back of a few strange years. 

They have had lots of different managers and therefore lots of different back-room staff and then lots of different players. Maybe losing Allardyce to the England job didn't help - it could be a different story now if that hadn't happened.  

But nowhere along the line have there been any clear plan. 

But sometimes it's not the worst thing in the world to go down to the Championship. Newcastle have proved you can go down and make yourself stronger. 

They will be a big club in the Championship - it's a dog-eat-dog league and you've got to have some guts to come straight back up but it's possible.

Stoke City

Stoke manager Mark Hughes:  "I thought we played well in terms of withstanding what Burnley do and defensively we were rock solid. In terms of our play we had a game plan and looked to take their press out of it and it worked really well.

"[I thought] It was just a matter time for us to score. We had a couple of real opportunities when we were clean through and that is the disappointing thing for us. 

"We were the side in the ascendency but they were able to go up and put the ball into the box and it was a good strike but I don’t recall them having too many others. It is disappointing. On night I thought we were the better team."

West Bromwich Albion

West Brom manager Tony Pulis: "We gave two poor goals away. We still had chances and possessions. Chadli could come out another day with a hat-trick, so we are disappointed.

"The lads kept working but it wasn’t out night. Even when they went down to 10 men, we needed a break. If we had scored with 10 mins to go we could have gone on to get something. We became more desperate.

"We needed a break and they had it."

Watford

Watford manager Walter Mazzarri: "I’m very happy for my team. The players played very well. It was a great game.

"I said before the game they were a good side and had two good results against Man United and Arsenal.

"It was a beautiful goal by M'Baye Niang. Also the assist was good from Deeney."

On Miguel Britos' sending off: "He shouldn’t have been booked – even once – of course we will miss him now for the Tottenham game."

Burnley

Burnley manager Sean Dyche: “It was a very important win, not just because of the remaining games but we have been on a really tough run. Five out of our seven games have been away and the two at home against the top two.

“We knew it was a tough run and to come out with a deserved win is pleasing.

“We have played big games at Turf Moor the players are adapting. They know there are big games and have produced a performance when it counts. We have got to stay focussed. We are in good shape with a record number of points and still seven games to go.”
