It's better from Sunderland. They really struggled in the first 10 minutes and Manchester United dominated play.

You can see it's reflected onto the fans, who have responded to Sunderland playing the ball a bit better and switching the play about.

These guys can't make their mind up, banners for Seb Larsson and Zlatan there.

They won't be happy to see Larsson ushered away from a free-kick, which Bryan Oviedo then fluffed.

Sunderland have now gone 10 hours without a Premier League goal. A foolproof way to get relegated right there.

The hosts are having a decent spell in midfield at least, Didier Ndong getting forwards to win a throw high up the pitch, but Jack Rodwell then fouls Ander Herrera. 

The Manchester United fans are singing Andy Cole's name, he's had a kidney transplant this week.

First yellow card of the day goes to Luke Shaw for a particularly unwise challenge right through the back of Didier Ndong. Jose Mourinho looks bemused.

Seb Larsson whips the cross in - Billy Jones nods it wide. 

It's such a nice day and such a bad game so far. Nothing has happened - though Victor Anichebe has done well to win a Sunderland corner.

Jose Mourinho is clearly in overdrive. Luke Shaw is the most involved player on the pitch so far. He's had more touches (12) and made more passes (nine) than any other player. His passing accuracy of 67% isn't the best, though.

Manchester United spring the ball nicely down their right but Matteo Darmian can't find an Antonio Valencia cross and it's easily dealt with.

David Moyes gives referee Craig Pawson a verbal volley as he jogs past as Luke Shaw gets away with kicking the ball away. Not sure why Jose Mourinho would have told him to do that.

Luke Shaw pings a corner very deep, beyond the far post, but it's kept alive and Jesse Lingard hits a low shot which ping-pongs around on the edge of the box. Marcos Rojo is fouled and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will line up a free-kick.

Sunderland launch a couple of hopeful balls over the top but they are easily swept up. Manchester United are bossing possession, captain Marouane Fellaini heavily involved in these early stages.
