  1. goal

Slimani slides it inpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Everton 1-1 Leicester

    Well what a start!

With absolutely no respect for the fact that I'm trying to eat an ice cream, Leicester equalise with their first attack.

Like Leicester before them the Everton defence go walkabout, allowing Demarai Gray to send in Islam Slimani clean through.

He makes no mistake, slotting the shot through Joel Robles' legs. Great start!

Leicester are all over the place here. Everton almost get in again but this time the final ball is a touch heavy. What a start!

  4. goal

Davies takes advantagepublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Everton 1-0 Leicester

    Well who saw that coming?!

Leicester kick off and still concede in 30 seconds. Kevin Mirallas skins Yohan Benalounane, it all opens up for him and the Belgian has Tom Davies haring up on his left too.

Mirallas goes down, there's a very brief appeal for a foul, but Davies picks up the loose ball and fires past Kasper Schmeichel at his near post.

    Extraordinary start.

A banner has been unfurled in support of injured Everton right-back Seamus Coleman, who knows when we'll see him back in action? He's a big loss for club and country.

A real rabble-rouser isn't he Dave? Really gets the fires burning.

Anyway, over to Moyes' old stomping ground and another full house at Goodison. We'll be sad to see her go if this new ground on the docks ever gets built.

  9. 'We are in a really poor position'published at 15:54 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Sunderland 0-3 Man Utd

    Sunderland

Sunderland manager David Moyes speaking to Sky Sports: "There's disappointment we didn’t get anything from the game.

"United were good. We hung in there. I just think couple of decisions went against us. It's hard enough to play against United with 11 men never mind 10.

"The decisions didn’t help us today. I don’t want to really focus on the ref. Maybe the decisions today had an impact on the game.

"We have to do more in some areas. The decisions didn't help."

On how the team performed after going down to 10?

"It affected the match incredibly. I have to give the players credit for trying to stick with it."

    On their hopes of survival?

"We keep fighting and keep going. We have another home game next Saturday. We know we are in a really poor position."

  11. Season-long strugglespublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Sunderland

I can't help but think back to August, when David Moyes basically set his sights on relegation.

Asked about supporters fearing another season-long struggle, he said: "Well, they would probably be right.

"That's where they've been every other year for the last four years, so why would it suddenly change?"

Sunderland boss David Moyes speaking to Match of the Day:

"I don't want to blame referees for my position and us losing. Today the result was helped by the referee. Manchester United were playing well but it was a decision that went against us.

"[Before United scored] We were hanging in the game and staying in the game and trying to do our best. We gave away a poor goal and I thought we needed to get a lot closer. When we went down to 10 men it made it a lot harder.

"We keep going. We have another home game next Saturday and we have to try and win it. We do some good things but just lack a bit of quality but it's not for the want of trying. The boys are doing everything they can.

"The hardest thing as a manager is losing and we're losing a lot. The players care and want to do well and we're not doing as well as we should be."

  13. Will we ever score again?published at 15:49 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Sunderland 0-3 Manchester United

Sunderland have now failed to score in seven successive Premier League games – the joint-second worst run in Premier League history. Crystal Palace hold the record with nine games (1994-95), with Derby (2007-08) and Ipswich (1994-95) also going seven games without scoring.

  14. 'De Gea will probably face Chelsea'published at 15:48 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Sunderland 0-3 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho on keeper David de Gea's injury: "He has a problem with his hip. When he dives he feels it a little bit. It's good for him to have a rest.

"It's good for Sergio Romero to play before Brussels [Anderlecht in the Europa League]. De Gea will probably be fit for Chelsea - yes, if he's in good condition."

  15. 'We will fight until the end'published at 15:47 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

Jack Rodwell speaking to Sky Sports:

"I need to watch the replay again but from what the lads were saying we've been really hard done by.

"They had a lot more possession and were in more control. The goal came out of nowhere and at a time we were growing but once the second goal went in it was game over.

"We dug in but we couldn't get the result. It's difficult to look at the table but there's games to play and we'll keep fighting until the end."

If Leicester beat Everton today, they will be on a longer Premier League winning streak than they managed at any point during last season's title tilt.

  17. 'I'm really pleased for Shaw'published at 15:42 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

Jose Mourinho speaking to Match of the Day:

"Before the match against Rostov we played with 10 men for about an hour. Today was the opposite thing. We played with one more for a long time. Hopefully the plane is at the airport and we can go back to Manchester and rest.

"We want to fight in the Premier League until it is mathematically impossible. The Premier League we cannot win, but Europa League we can.

"We had lots of players that were not here today and the most important thing after the three points was to have no more injuries. Only Valencia is the one I really expect to recover and play the next match.

"It's a little De Gea injury. It's not a big problem. When he dives to one side he feels a little bit but Romero is very good and very solid and Romero goes again to play in the Europa League.

"I took Shaw off because of the yellow card and the pressure from the crowd. It was good to protect him but was also good for him to play one hour with a good solid performance and no mistakes, so I'm really pleased for him."

  18. 'It was difficult for the sad team to react'published at 15:40 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho talking to Sky Sports:  "The result was good. We resisted the results of yesterday when Manchester City and Liverpool won, they left us in a position of 'yes' or 'no'. It was 'yes'.

"We got three points and it was a solid display. It was against a team that is sad, it's normal. Against a team that is sad, if you score before then it's difficult for them to react.

"You could feel the negative feeling around the team. That is felt with a team close to relegation."

On the game and the importance of having the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic:

"It was open at 0-0. We were in control without danger. We were playing quite compact and solid. You need these players to break it. Every team has a couple of them. Zlatan did that. We felt the game was in our pocket. In this beautiful weather the game was played at a more slow intensity."
