It's been a good first-half performance for the visiting team - they are good value for the lead. 

The players who have been in such scintillating form for Palace this season - Zaha, for example - have not been able to influence the game at all.

We are free-wheeling towards half-time. Burnley look happy to head back to the oranges one-up, Palace look in need of a half-time gee-up.

And no-one digs in the stirrups like Big Sam.

I think at the moment those two centre forwards are causing absolute murders for the Crystal Palace back line.

They look leggy and bereft of ideas and I worry about the exertions of the previous few fixtures and I think that's what Sam Allardyce will point to if he doesn't get a reaction from his players in the second half.  

The first sign of impatience from the home fans as Wayne Hennessey's clearing kick sails straight into the stands prompting groans around Selhurst Park.

Burnley's George Boyd gives it the full Dominic Cork, howling for a penalty with arms outstretched above his head.

He got a nudge in the back from Jason Puncheon, but it was not a lot of contact.

Robert Madley is unmoved.

Burnley look very dangerous from set pieces - nine times out of ten they have been winning that first ball and it's causing Crystal Palace all sorts of problems in the area. 

Good game this. Attacks on top and defences creaking.

Sam Vokes gets in front of Damien Delaney, but his header into the turf is too close to Wayne Hennessey who pushes away in the Palace goal.

The Crystal Palace fans all 'ooh' as one, expect for one young front-row fan who 'oomphs' as he takes the full force of Luka Milivojevic's shot in the stomach.

The Serbian went for power and caught it sweet, but maybe placement was the better option from 15 yards.

Anything you can do...

Palace get out the road atlas and locate route one.

Christian Benteke is the totem pole they are aiming for in the Burnley box. He takes the ball down on his chest, but is hustle out of possession before he can get a shot away.

Some half-hearted calls for a penalty for a handball by James Tarkowski. Nothing much in that.

An injury concern for Burnley as Stephen Ward flexes and stretches a niggle.

He hobbles to the sidelines but I think he is going to be able to continue.

It's really clever from Sean Dyche so far... 

It's not pretty. It's pretty old school and scrappy - the kind of thing you would expect to see in League One or Two, but it's the tactics that have kept Burnley in front so far.

it is not complex from Burnley, but it is mighty effective.

Another swirling delivery - this time from Matthew Lowton - into the box for their big front two to fight for and Sam Vokes directs a looping header just over the top.

Wayne Hennessey was rooted and watching as it just cleared the woodwork.

Associate director Eddie Izzard is in the Selhurst Park stands.

Sometimes Maxi Jazz of Faithless joins him in the celebrity section. No sign of the beats-monger today though.

James McArthur opens up his body, sets himself and zeros in on the top corner.

But that attempt at a curling effort from the edge of the Burnley box has got well off the leash, flying high and handsome into the stands.

Palace have had more of the game, just lacking the scoreline.

Joel Ward gives away a free-kick on the edge of the Burnley box in an aerial tussle with Scott Arfield.

That gives the Clarets some breathing space and a chance to clear their lines.

A tweet that surely gets some serious use over a season by the Eagles social media team.

Invariably an accurate reflection of what is going on in the Palace dug-out.

Wilfried Zaha, all long legs, searing pace and velcro control, earns a free-kick in a decent position down on the right.

It has gone for a corner over the far post. Palace building some pressure.

Ashley Barnes is already sitting on the turf, coordinating some sort of boat-rowing goal celebration with his team-mates when he finally notices Robert Madley's arm raised for a free-kick.

It looks fair enough. The Burnley striker used his arm to help control Michael Keane's headed knock-down.

But Palace are not looking secure in the heart of defence. And Sean Dyche is not convinced by the decision either.
