At the other end, Raffael makes a nuisance of himself and wins a free-kick out of Bayern captain Philipp Lahm. Raffael drives the free-kick from out on the left towards the near post - shades of Willian for Chelsea at Stoke yesterday. However, Bayern's defenders are all where they should be, and Manuel Neuer is untroubled as the ball is blocked and cleared.

Franck Ribery and David Alaba exchange passes down the left for Bayern - but there's just no way through.

Gladbach defending in numbers at the start of the half. Thiago Alcantara and Arjen Robben both try to pick a way through, but the home side have all their No Entry signs in the right places.

Second half under way. Bayern Munich had 67% possession in that first half. Can that keep that up - and make it count?

I do love the official Twitter accounts of Bundesliga clubs. Very dry sense of humour.

We're going to switch focus to Germany for the second half, as Bayern seek a fourth successive league victiry.

    Borussia Monchengladbach 0-0 Bayern Munich

Over in Germany, Bayern Munich have been pressing for an opener in the final moments of the first half. Arjen Robben has just done his thing, cutting in from the right on top his left foot and bending a shot against the post. Robert Lewandowski dives to head the rebound goalwards, but keeper Yann Sommer reacts well and keeps it out.

    Atletico Madrid 3-1 Sevilla

A big win for Atletico, who now look very well placed to secure a spot in next season's Champions League.

As for the title race, there's a fair bit of pressure on Barcelona to beat Valencia this evening, given Real Madrid's 2-1 victory at Athletic Bilbao yesterday.

    Atletico Madrid 3-1 Sevilla

The problems increase for Sevilla - that's four matches without a win in all competitions. It's their longest run without a victory since Jorge Sampaoli replaced Unai Emery last summer.

Comfortable for Atletico. If I were Leicester City (which I am not), I would be worried.

Still goalless in Monchengladbach, with half-an-hour gone. Robert Lewandowski has a chance for leaders Bayern as Thiago Alcantara plays him in, but he is forced wide, and keeper Yann Sommer smothers the shot.

The game has opened up like crazy in the final minutes. Nicolas Gaitan hares down the left for Atletico, squares the ball for Koke, who is there well before the chasing Sevilla defenders, but can only hit a first-time shot straight at keeper Sergio Rico.

Correa grabs a consolationpublished at 17:00 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2017

    Atletico Madrid 3-1 Sevilla

Atletico let their guard slip for a moment, and Diego Simeone is utterly furious. Joaquin Correa is allowed to run in from the left and slot a shot under Jan Oblak.

That came a few seconds after Fernando Torres, played clean through, failed to get enough on his attempted chip, playing a sand wedge straight into Sergio Rico's hands. Could have been 4-0, instead it's 3-1.

Now it feels as if Fernando Torres is back properly. He goes into an aerial challenge with Vicente Iborra, is penalised, gives the referee a mouthful and is booked. Good to have you back, Fernando.

His manager Diego Simeone makes a final change, sending on Nicolas Gaitan for Yannick Carrasco.

Exhibition stuff. Fernando Torres, played into space on the right, has time to control and volley at goal. The home fans will the net to bulge, but Sergio Rico ain't playing, and beats away the shot.

    Atletico Madrid 3-0 Sevilla

Atletico are making it look easy now. A lovely goal this one. Antoine Griezmann runs at the Sevilla defence, times the pass perfectly for the charging Juanfran to meet - and the full-back rolls across goal for Koke to tap in his fourth of the season. It's incredible to think that Sevilla have looked La Liga title contenders for so long this season, because they have been absolutely walloped today.

Juanfran plays Fernando Torres in down the right. The Atletico striker is feeling his way into the game on his comeback, and his cross on the run is too high for the targets in the centre.

After that flurry of incident, things have calmed down a touch at the Vicente Calderon. Sevilla having plenty of the ball, Atletico happy to let them. For Jorge Sampaoli, a frustrating couple of weeks is getting worse here.
