Raheem Sterling has the legs going down the right, but he's snuffed out by Nacho Monreal. In the sunshine, Andre Marriner gives Fernandinho a flea in the ear, but I didn't see what for. After a frantic start, it's settled.

Arsene Wenger looks worried. Father whose daughter is in labour worried. Head on hand, then a rub of the face, all while Steve Bould tries to think of something to say. It's like Captain Mainwaring and Sergeant Wilson.

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester City

Arsenal threaten for the first time. Alexis Sanchez dinks in a clever ball towards Mesut Ozil, who has his back to goal about 10 yards out. The German turns and stabs an effort on goal, but it doesn't have the power. Willy Cabellero, a mighty oak falling, gets down to save.

It's incredible the distance Arsenal's midfield players are having to run between their front and back lines.

You either press up together or you drop back together - there is a huge amount of space Manchester City are being allowed to have in the centre of the field.

Good lord, Arsenal's defenders will have nightmares about figures in black and purple running towards them. Sergio Aguero terrorises with a surging run, all while Raheem Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva queue up. If City could defend, Pep would be on to something.

Theo Walcott has not been in the game at all in these early stages.

I wonder if his confidence has been knocked because he didn't make the England squad recently?

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester City

Some Arsenal fans are trying to get behind the Gunners with cries of "come on Arsenal". Still, Mesut Ozil is getting some grief when he gets on the ball. City come again, but Alexis Sanchez does his bit to get back and defend.

Don't rule out a red card, either. Francis Coquelin on David Silva, name in the book. Goals or cards, which will have more of?

Manchester City are cutting through Arsenal at will - and already there are those ominous murmurs of frustration around Emirates Stadium. The Gunners need to clear their heads here.

Looking again, it was a delightful curling effort from Kevin de Bruyne, while David Ospina did very well to get up and deny David Silva. Arsenal look vulnerable every time City go forward but, having said that, the Gunners look to have goals in them too.

    Arsenal 0-1 Manchester City

This one could have about 15 goals, with most of them going to City. Kevin de Bruyne with a rapier thrust from the edge of the box, back off the post, the rebound not cleared and David Silva having a pop at the follow-up. So, so open, with the Arsenal defence not knowing whether it's time for breakfast or a haircut.

Joseph Reade: Blame Arsene Wenger all you want but he can't legislate for awful defending like that.

Alistair Wiseman: Watching Arsenal these days just makes us Arsenal fans angry. And disappointed. But unsurprised. How sad is that?

Gooner72: Unbelievable. I cannot believe there is actually a DEBATE as to whether he stays or go. Just shocking.

Can you see this ending well for Jesus Navas? Like a Wookie on Endor, he's just not in the right place at full-back. In this challenge, he goes over the top and takes a chunk of Nacho Monreal's shin. This latest public experiment by Professor Guardiola, 'playing a winger in defence' has not started with promise.

    It's criminal from Arsenal.

It's emphatic finishing from Sane - totally ruthless - but Arsenal are completely open at the back.

Sane is so graceful - he is like a panther - on it like a flash.

How often do you see Hector Bellerin done for pace? Don't worry about Manchester City's defence, it won't matter if Arsenal stay as solid as a wet biscuit. Completely sliced open by Kevin de Bruyne's pass, Leroy Sane has the strength and pace to see off Bellerin. Round David Ospina and into the empty net. Guardiola punches the air, while some boos are heard inside the Emirates.

Already I've seen no where near enough pressure from Arsenal's defensive line.

You have to be able to compete in possession and out of it.

You cannot allow players of Manchester City's players too much time - they will punish you.

Lovely sunshine in north London, the warm stuff coming in from the far side of the ground. Sergio Aguero, who was in Bolivia in midweek, is put through, only to see the flag go up. Then Raheem Sterling, only for David Ospina to get off his line.
