  1. Reaction: Blues 'have to win'published at 18:29 British Summer Time 29 April 2017

Birmingham earned their first win under Harry Redknapp with a 2-0 victory over a much-changed Huddersfield side despite Che Adams’ first-half sending off, but they are still only two points clear of the relegation zone heading into the final game of the season.

Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp told BBC WM:

“I thought it was a poor sending off, I’ve looked at it a dozen times and he was on the floor, he’s gone for the ball, no way I can see is that a red card.

“We defended fantastic, the back four stood strong, the four across the middle of the park have done their jobs, and [Lukas] Jutkiewicz up front held the ball up and caused them problems when he could. It was a great performance.

“We have to win [next week], a point is absolutely useless.”

  2. Reaction: Mowbray does not blame Wagner for changespublished at 18:27 British Summer Time 29 April 2017

Blackburn beat Aston Villa 1-0, but they remain in the Championship relegation zone ahead of their final game of the season at Brentford.

Blackburn manager Tony Mowbray told BBC Radio Lancashire:

“The players need to recover, they need to spend some time with their family, they need to relax, they need to take some intensity out of themselves.

“We’ll hope that we can get a result and hope that other results go our way, and we can all enjoy the close-season knowing that we’re coming back to be much, much better in the Championship next year.”

Mowbray also said he did not blame Huddersfield boss David Wagner for making 10 changes to their starting line-up in a 2-0 defeat by Rovers’ relegation rivals Blackburn.

“Not all the results went our way, I hear there were 10 changes for Huddersfield at Birmingham.

“Huddersfield have to look after themselves I suppose, they’re in the play-offs, so if he wants to rest everybody then so be it.

“I’m not sure I would have done that personally, but I don’t want to stand here and question the integrity of the game.

“It’s I suppose disappointing that 10-man Birmingham City can win 2-0 against a team in the top six who’ve been winning pretty consistently all year, which suggests that the changes did have a big impact on the game.”

Brighton have not deserved more than that.

We have let them have far too much time to get the cross in and the lad is unmarked.

Great header and we're 1-0 down.

    Brighton 0-1 Bristol City

One effort on target, one goal for Bristol City who have now assumed the role of party poopers.

It's a well-worked goal too as Matty Taylor races down the right and whips over an inch-perfect cross to the unmarked Josh Brownhill, who heads home from eight yards.

Brighton's champagne is on ice for now.

Glenn Murray has been at the heart of Brighton's best moments so far, but the experienced striker has yet to find the finishing touch.

Seagulls defender Gaetan Bong lets fly with a speculative shot from distance which takes a deflection and goes behind for a corner.

    This is better from Brighton.

Glenn Murray gets above Bailey Wright as they challenge for Gaetan Bong's hanging cross but he can't direct his header and it squirms away from Tomer Hemed and bounces wide of goal.

    Brighton 0-0 Bristol City

A first real sustained spell of pressure for Brighton.

First Frank Fielding does well to punch clear Bruno's cross in front of the lunging Glenn Murray before Mark Little is at full stretch to head clear Anthony Knockaert's delivery.

Brighton have dominated possession but have so far lacked a cutting edge.

But they've had a habit of grinding teams down this season.

    Brighton 0-0 Bristol City

Brighton swing play to the other end and register their first effort on target as Jiri Skalak's low show is well held by Bristol City keeper Frank Fielding.

A more promising couple of minutes in what has so far been a low-key game.

Only Leeds' Chris Wood has scored more than Tammy Abraham's 23 league goals for Bristol City this season.

The on-loan Chelsea striker has started to come into this game and drills in a low cross that Lewis Dunk jabs clear.

Best moment for Brighton so far as Bruno escapes down the right but a defender just beats Glenn Murray to the header.

The Robins are temporarily down to 10 men as Mark Little has treatment for a nose bleed.

You guess that we won't have heard the last of this.

It reminds me of a game a couple of years ago at Blackpool when their fans protested at Bloomfield Road during an end-of-season fixture against Huddersfield and it was abandoned.

Team spirit has been a key factor in Brighton's success this season.

You see teams get together in huddles before kick-off quite a bit these days but you sense this one means more than most.

In terms of action, Jamie Paterson swings over a cross for the visitors but Tammy Abraham can only glance a header wide from 12 yards.
