The first half passed without Rangers forward trio of Kenny Miller, Joe Garner and Martyn Waghorn offering any sort of goal threat. What can Rangers do to turn this game around?

They are honest, they work hard but they are missing a bit. I think Rangers could have done a bit better than (sign Joe) Garner. They are all running about, they are all working hard. They are hanging on because they are working hard. In the blink of an eye Celtic could make it 2-0 because they've got the quality to do it.

  5. Problems, problemspublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

    HT Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Tom English
    Chief sports writer, BBC Scotland

Rangers have a problem at left-back, they have a problem with high balls into the box they have a problem holding on to the ball, but while it is 1-0 it is still a contest. But they will need to pull something out of the hat.

  6. Slender lead despite dominancepublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

    HT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Alasdair Lamont
    BBC Sport Scotland

Rangers have crept into the game as the first half has progressed, but Celtic still look very assured. Their only slight concern might be that for all their dominance, they only have a one-goal lead. Nonetheless, it looks in little peril unless Pedro Caixinha can provide some half-time inspiration.

  7. Celtic dominating rivalspublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

    HT Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Chris McLaughlin
    BBC Sport Scotland

Rarely has a side dominated the first 45 minutes of an Old Firm game the way Celtic have at Hampden this afternoon. They've passed the ball around their rivals with worrying ease from a Rangers point of view. The midfield has been completely dominated by the men in green and white. The only positives from a Rangers point of view is that it's only 1-0 and Celtic's top scorer Moussa Dembele is off with what looks like a hamstring problem.

  10. Dembele's exit a blow for Celticpublished at 44 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

"Leigh Griffiths, on his game, when he’s playing week in, week out, he’s really sharp, then he’s a real danger, but it’s that lack of match fitness and sharpness that’s done for him at the moment."

  11. Rangers limiting the damagepublished at 42 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

For all Celtic's dominance and pressure, Rangers have limited their old rivals to few attempts at goal. However, they had looked prone to Moussa Dembele's aerial threat in the box before the Frenchman hobbled off with a hamstring pull.

  12. Slow Celtic sub allows Rangers to buildpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

"That’s the longest, longest period of time to get a sub onto the pitch – it’s quite incredible!" chuckles former Celtic goalkeeper Pat Bonner on BBC Radio Scotland.

"That allowed Rangers to grow in confidence - for the first time in the game, after 35 minutes, they had the ball, could knock passes around and a get a feel in this game."

"I think when Celtic had the opportunity to put the ball out and get Griffiths on, they should’ve taken it," adds former Rangers striker Kris Boyd. "Rangers were getting back into the game there, albeit they had the extra man on the pitch.

"I think they've realised now they can play on this occasion - before, as quick as they got the ball, they got rid of it."

  13. Treading on icepublished at 37 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Oh, boy. It looked as though referee Willie Collum considered showing 18-year-old Myles Beerman another yellow card, but he opted to merely warn the Gers left-back after he tripped Patrick Roberts as he ran towards the Rangers penalty box.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 35 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Myles Beerman is booked for a poor, flying challenge on Patrick Roberts as the Celtic winger controlled a dropping ball.

  15. On comes Griffithspublished at 34 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Leigh Griffiths replaces Moussa Dembele. He had to wait five minutes to come on!

  16. Nervy Rangerspublished at 32 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Rangers knock the ball about tentatively in midfield but no player looks to have the guile to penetrate the Celtic ranks. Meanwhile, Leigh Griffiths waits to come on for Moussa Dembele.

  17. 'Something's going to have to change'published at 30 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

"Something’s going to have to change for Rangers," says former Rangers striker Kris Boyd on BBC Radio Scotland, just moments before stricken Celtic striker Moussa Dembele motioned for a substitution.

"Celtic have total dominance all over the pitch. Rangers need to get tighter to Celtic and stop them playing in areas. But at the same time, if you try and squeeze Celtic, the goal came from that long ball over the top to Moussa Dembele to run onto, it’s pretty difficult. It might be a tackle, or something stupid that changes the tide of this game."

Could Dembele's unfortunate injury be the boost Rangers so desperately need?

  18. Rangers plan not workingpublished at 29 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Alasdair Lamont
    BBC Sport Scotland

It looks like Pedro Caixinha has instructed his players to sit off Celtic until the final third, but that's not a tactic that is sitting well with the fans. Celtic's passing is too quick and crisp and they seem to have a spare man at every turn. Simply put, they have better players and are better coached.

  19. Dembele goes off for treatmentpublished at 28 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Moussa Dembele's Scottish Cup semi-final looks like it is over. He stretched to cleverly back-heel the ball to win a corner and signalled straightaway that he had pulled his hamstring.
