He finds the bottom corner! Yann Kermorgant is the coolest man in the Madejski as he slots low to the left.

The keeper got a hand on it but couldn't keep it out.

    Reading lead on aggregate!

  2. PENALTY (Reading)published at 49 mins

    Reading 0-0 Fulham

It's handball! Tomas Kalas is the guilty man. He bundled the ball away with his left hand as he chased down a bouncing ball that was aimed for Yann Kermorgant. It's a clear one. Reading have a spot kick.

  3. CHANCE!published at 47 mins

    Reading 0-0 Fulham

Reading have the first decent chance of the second half, as Yann Kermorgant's cross from the right finds Lewis Grabban in the middle, but he header is saved by Marcus Bettinelli.

Fulham - in their red shirts and white shorts - get this half under way, as 'Sweet Caroline' rings out around the Madejski...

Right then. 45 minutes to go for someone to win this tie in normal time. The players are back out.

Quite literally, the biggest half of these two sides' seasons is about to begin.

Theo Hunt:  What's the furthest that two championship teams are away from each other, because 25 miles goes a bit of a way in England...?

The answer... about 290 miles this season. That is the trip from Newcastle to Brighton.

Would that be enough to demand away goals in a play-off? (Not that either one of them need to even think about it as they kick back after earning automatic promotion.)

  7. 'It's anybody's guess'published at 20:43 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

    HT: Reading 0-0 Fulham

    Steve Brown
Former Charlton Athletic defender on BBC Radio London

Fulham have definitely got an advantage when they're in possession and they can get both full-backs high and wide.

The full-backs have had a couple of great moments where they've been in positions where they should have created something that ended in a good attempt, and it's fizzled out because they've picked the wrong pass.

Reading seemed to halfway through that first half drop off tempo-wise, but they came back a little bit and that's why we got that even ending.

It's anybody's guess here to be honest, it's that even.

  8. Royals fans issue rallying criespublished at 20:41 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

    HT: Reading 0-0 Fulham

We may have found Reading's longest-running fan. Olga has been supporting the Royals for 70 years.

She's watching the game tonight from home, but appears to have set up a lovely spread for all of her guests, which includes "knick-knacks, nibbles and tipples".

Meanwhile, one of the Royals' most musical fans has sent in a song to the BBC all the way from Zimbabwe.

Tapiwa Gutu has put together this banger, called "I am a Reading fan" - something you'd never guess from the lyrics..., external

  9. 'Exhausting to watch'published at 20:39 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

    HT: Reading 0-0 Fulham

    Ady Williams
Sport presenter and ex-Reading captain, BBC Radio Berkshire

I tell you what, I've played games of football and been less tired.

It is tense, there is no getting away from it.

  10. Plenty to chew overpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

    HT: Reading 0-0 Fulham

    Adam Williams
    BBC Sport at Madejski Stadium

For the first 30 minutes, that half was all action. Speed on the break, great saves and some good old play-off tension.

The last 15 minutes were a bit more like Saturday's first leg. A bit more stand-offish from both sides, perhaps more content to take stock.

No goals so far, but there's been plenty to chew over.

  11. Postpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

    HT: Reading 0-0 Fulham

Fulham have edged it, but that half was the tale of two fine bits of goalkeeping - one from Marcus Bettinelli to deny Yann Kermorgant and one double stop from Ali Al Habsi to keep out Tom Cairney's free-kick and then Sone Aluko's effort on the rebound.

It's tight. It's tense. One goal may well settle it.

A Fulham corner comes to nothing and it remains 1-1 on aggregate as they head for a half-time orange.

Raj Sidhu: Poor possession is slightly concerning - that's normally a given for Reading

Raj, the stats highlighted in the previous post say it all...

  15. All square on so many levelspublished at 44 mins

    Reading 0-0 Fulham

So, it is 1-1 on aggregate and 0-0 on the night after 44 minutes.

Just look at the stats, you can't separate these two for ball retention.

Fulham, it must be noted, are doing a fine job against a Reading outfit that have built their season on a heavy possession-based game.

I'd say Fulham have looked the more dangerous, so far.

It's not hard to see why they're unbeaten in their past seven games.

  19. YELLOW CARD (Fulham)published at 39 mins

    Reading 0-0 Fulham

Kevin McDonald is the first man to go into the referee's book tonight, for a foul on Reading's Danny Williams.

Visiting keeper Marcus Bettinelli gets up well to intercept the resulting free-kick.

You make an excellent point, Nathan. Of course, there are also less than 25 miles between the two stadiums belonging to the other semi-finalists - Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday - so it really is just as well...
