Yeah, well, with a record of 53 goals in 135 games for Reading and cult hero status for his efforts, you could always do with more Robin Fridays...

Reading don't appear to know how to deal with Ryan Fredericks every time he carries the ball into the final third for Fulham.

Already he's forced Ali Al Habsi to parry a shot on to the post and then he won that free-kick that Tom Cairney so nearly converted for the opening goal.

Al Habsi has been called into action three times already and has had the answers, but for how long?

At the other end, Lewis Grabban nudges Tomas Kalas off the ball to create space for himself in the area but his left-footed shot is comfortably saved by Marcus Bettinelli.

  6. CLOSE!published at 31 mins

    Reading 0-0 Fulham

From a right-wing Fulham corner, Floyd Ayite escapes his man at the far post but can't quite turn the ball into an unguarded net! He pokes wide as he slides in.

Fulham are having a fine spell.

"That's a wonderful save, I actually thought it was a goal, I was waiting for the net to bulge.

"It's a wonderful attempt from Cairney, he whips it over the wall and Al-Habsi's very strong down low to his left."

Absolutely fantastic from Ali Al Habsi. That is why he is [Reading's] player of the season. Absolutely incredible.

  9. GREAT DOUBLE SAVE!published at 28 mins

    Reading 0-0 Fulham

Ali Al Habsi does brilliantly to palm away Tom Cairney's curling free-kick, and he blocks the rebound too, from Sone Aluko.

Top goalkeeping to keep the visitors out.

Fulham win a free-kick in a very, very dangerous position, just outside the area, slightly right of centre, as Tyler Blackett fouls Ryan Fredericks.

Sone Aluko's got decent feet, hasn't he? He skips past another challenge down Fulham's right, but his cross is cleared.

Tom Wynne:  Do away goals count extra? #bbcefl, external from Tom a nervous Royal...

Sadly, this isn't the Champions League, Tom. That said, it's probably fair enough that there are no prizes for scoring 20 miles or so away from your own ground...

Little to choose so far between these two as they look to come out of the blocks at pace on the break.

Yann Kermorgant's turn and shot inside the area for Reading and Marcus Bettinelli's fine save have just cranked up the volume that little bit further among the home section.

Joey van den Berg's inclusion in this leg for the hosts is giving them another avenue for delivery for balls up to Kermorgant and strike partner Lewis Grabban.

You have to give the keeper credit. It came through a crowd.

That is a great reaction save.

That save could be crucial tonight. Yann Kermorgant caught his shot really well, and the keeper had players in his eyeline too.

Now, Reading come forward again, but Kermorgant is penalised for a foul.

Marcus Bettinelli, take a bow! He pulls off a fine, one-handed save, low to his right, to palm away a powerful Yann Kermorgant shot on the turn.

    Reading 0-0 Fulham

Reading's counter attack breaks down despite the best efforts of Lewis Grabban down the right channel.

Moments later, Chris Gunter gets another cross in from their right, but Fulham head it away.

It's a decent start to the game this, although not what you'd call electric. Both teams have started with purpose and intent.

Fulham are just getting a little bit of momentum going now. That is a decent attack down the right-hand side and Reading couldn't clear it far enough.
