I think Danny Ward and his Huddersfield team-mates were so excited after their penalty shootout win that they could have run all of the way to Wembley this evening.

But they'll have to wait 12 days before they appear at England's national stadium.

On Monday 29 May, it will be Reading v Huddersfield Town in the Championship play-off final.

We'll have live text and Radio 5 live coverage of that match. Before then, there's the climax to the League Two play-off semi-finals tomorrow. Hope you can join us again then.

If the two Championship play-off semi-finals have been tight and cagey, down in the fourth tier it's been anything but.

Eleven goals were scored across the two first legs on Sunday, as Blackpool came from behind to edge Luton 3-2 at Bloomfield Road, while Carlisle rescued a 3-3 draw at home to Exeter.

More goals, thrills and spills in round two? Let's hope so. We'll have live text commentary of both second legs on Thursday from 19:15 BST on the BBC Sport website and app.

Huddersfield head coach David Wagner tells Sky Sports: "First I must share my thoughts with Sheffield Wednesday. They have had a great season and I can only imagine how sad they are. They are great competitors.

"If you play two games and have to go to penalties, it shows how tight and even the games are.

"Everybody knows how great and difficult this occasion can be, but I'm so proud for our football club and everyone connected with it because Huddersfield Town will be at Wembley on 29 May."

  4. Steel City derby returns next seasonpublished at 22:52 British Summer Time 17 May 2017

Sheffield Wednesday's play-off exit means we'll have a Sheffield derby in the Championship next season.

Their city rivals, United, cantered to the League One title in 2016-17 and will be back in the second tier for the first time since 2011 next season.

David Wagner shook every Wednesday player's hand. He's been criticised before about celebrations, so it's good to see.

You could easily lose your head, run away with the crowd, run away with the players.

But it's a manager's duty and job to stay humble and congratulate the opponents, which he has done.

Then he will celebrate and go really wild - so he should do.

Huddersfield defender Michael Hefele tells Sky Sports: "The whole team believed, even when we went 1-0 down. There was pressure on my penalty, Jack Payne was unlucky, but Danny Ward saved the next one and we got through."

Huddersfield captain Tommy Smith: "It's an amazing feeling. This team are a special bunch, and it stems back to the backroom staff. It's a special club. It's been an unbelievable season and this is an incredible feeling. Why can't we go on and win at Wembley?"

    Huddersfield's incredible season goes on.

They finished 19th in the Championship last season and had never reached the Championship play-offs before in their history.

On the balance of the two games, they probably deserve it and they will fancy their chances of making more history against Reading at Wembley.

It's 45 years since Huddersfield were in the top flight. They're one win away from getting back there.

Soon after their shootout victory, Town's players were in a huddle in front of their fans with David Wagner holding court in the middle.

He has done a truly remarkable job in West Yorkshire and this season will end at Wembley for them.

Who knows - he may even be facing his old mate Jurgen Klopp in the Premier League next season?
