    Carlisle 1-1 Exeter

Carlisle have got their tails up now since equalising, pressing their opponents high up the pitch.

We have just over five minutes until half time, and it's so refreshing to see both teams so keen to go forward.

  2. Postpublished at 19:09 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Blackpool 1-2 Luton

Another long range effort from Blackpool's Kyle Vassell tests Stuart Moore and he's forced to make a full stretch save with his dive.

A minute later and Brad Potts tests Moore. We could have a Potts and Vassell scorer on each side tonight... (see 1903 entry)

  3. Postpublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Blackpool 1-2 Luton

Confidence flowing through the men in white now and Luton looking very comfortable by the seaside.

Remember this is a side that finished seven points over Blackpool in the final table.

  4. goal

    GOAL (Moore-Taylor og)published at 19:03 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Carlisle 1-1 Exeter

Carlisle have looked a threat from set-pieces all game and have their reward.

Exeter clear the initial corner but Nicky Adams puts in a low second cross which is turned into his own goal by visiting skipper Jordan Moore-Taylor.

It's unfortunate but the defender had to take evasive action with Jamie Proctor lurking behind him.

  5. A commentator's nightmarepublished at 19:03 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Blackpool 1-2 Luton

An interesting side note to those two Luton scorers, Potts and Vassell, Blackpool have their own Potts-Vassell strike team themselves.

Luton's goalscorers are Dan Potts and Isaac Vassell while in the Tangerines have Brad Potts and Kyle Vassell in their team.

    A commentator's nightmare.

  6. 'Both sides are going toe-to-toepublished at 19:02

It's been really, really enjoyable. Both teams have not given an inch, gone toe-to-toe and it's made for terrific viewing.

  7. Postpublished at 19:01 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Carlisle 0-1 Exeter

We might not have as many goals yet at Brunton Park, but it's lively.

It's Carlisle's turn to come forward and it's a slick passing move which results in Luke Joyce feeding Reggie Lambe, who curls his shot just wide of the target.

The hosts are starting to knock on the door as we pass the half hour mark.

  8. goal

    GOAL (I Vassell)published at 18:58 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Blackpool 1-2 Luton

30 seconds after Kyle Vassell's strike hits the crossbar for Blackpool, Luton take the lead.

Danny Hylton's initial close range effort is well saved but the Hatters recycle the ball and it comes back in to Isaac Vassell and the forward hits a sweet, right-footed strike into the net.

    Some response that.

  9. CLOSE!published at 18:58 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Carlisle 0-1 Exeter

If you weren't already aware, Exeter's Ollie Watkins is a real talent.

This time he receives the ball in his own half and darts forward on the counter attack, beating a player and moving into the penalty area.

However the youngster scuffs his shot into the grateful arms of Mark Gillespie.

  10. goal

    GOAL (D Potts)published at 18:56 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Blackpool 1-1 Luton

And just after that Blackpool attack, Luton counter and we're level.

A burst down the right hand side of the box from Justin James and his cut back eventually comes to Dan Potts whose side-footed shot hits the crossbar and bounces down centimetres over the line - but definitely over.

    Game on.

  11. Postpublished at 18:56 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Blackpool 1-0 Luton

Better from Blackpool as on loan midfielder Neil Danns hits a rasping drive at Stuart Moore who parries it away.

Luton defenders just about recover to black a couple of shots after that.

  12. Postpublished at 18:55 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Carlisle 0-1 Exeter

Jamie Proctor is a handful in the air, and I think the Exeter defenders already know this.

Reggie Lambe whips in a wonderful cross and Troy Brown just beats Proctor to the ball to head it out of harm's way.

Two facts to keep Carlisle fans upbeat - they have come from behind to win in both games against Exeter this season, and their visitors are yet to beat any of sides in the play-offs this season.

  13. Postpublished at 18:55 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Blackpool 1-0 Luton

You could argue that Luton have played much more of the football in the game so far but they have not done too much with the ball in the opening half of the first 45 minutes.

The Tangerines are going well at home having won four of their last six in front of their own fans.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18:51 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Carlisle 0-1 Exeter

The hosts were almost gifted an equaliser as Exeter keeper Bobby Olejnik fumbles at the edge of his box, but the Austrian eventually gathers the ball.

At the other end, Ollie Watkins is cynically brought down by Carlisle's Michael Raynes, who is booked.

  15. goal

GOAL (Cullen)published at 18:49 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Blackpool 1-0 Luton

Mark Cullen goalImage source, Rex Features

    First meaningful chance, first goal.

Mark Cullen pounces onto a through ball by Kyle Vassell and drills a low shot at Stuart Moore and the goalkeeper will be really disappointed he's not kept it out, but it was a powerful strike.

A 10th goal of the season for the former Luton man.

  16. Postpublished at 18:47 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Blackpool 0-0 Luton

Alan Sheehan has just done a Riyad Mahrez.

Running up to strike a 25-yard free-kick he loses his grip under his standing foot and falls over as the ball hits both feet and goes harmlessly wide.

Luton then follow that up with some good ball work on the edge of the Blackpool area.

  17. goal

GOAL (Grant)published at 18:46 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Carlisle 0-1 Exeter

Joel Grant goalImage source, Getty Images

Should Mark Gillespie have done better there?

Ollie Watkins looks dangerous again as he gets down the wing and crosses for Jamaica international Joel Grant, whose header beats the Carlisle keeper, despite him getting hands to it.

The ball squirmed over the line off the post and Exeter lead.

  18. CLOSE!published at 18:45 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Carlisle 0-0 Exeter

That was a very tasty cross from Exeter full-back Pierce Sweeney, which was so nearly converted by Ollie Watkins.

Watkins won the EFL Young Player of the Year award this season but arguably should've scored there.

The forward got to the cross but could only prod it wide.

  19. Play-off recordpublished at 18:44 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

    Blackpool 0-0 Luton

    Ian HollowayImage source, Rex Features

When it comes to knock-out football, Blackpool certainly know their way around a play-off campaign.

Luton's only previous play-off experience came in the third tier in 1996-97, losing the semi-final to Crewe, while Carlisle have twice lost at this stage, and this is Exeter's debut in the Football League play-offs.

  20. 'Scrappy start'published at 18:42

    Blackpool 0-0 Luton

    Keith Southern
former Blackpool midfielder on BBC Radio Lancashire

It's been really scrappy, really intense and neither side has strung a couple of passes together yet.
