In the build-up to this match Exeter director of football Steve Perryman has called on fans to make more "positive noise" at home games.

It's that age-old debate of who's responsible for creating a good atmosphere - the players or supporters? It's a chicken and egg scenario.

Carlisle are aware of their opponents' poor record at St James Park - they won here just 12 days ago - but Exeter will be hoping tonight's sellout crowd can make a difference.

    Exeter v Carlisle (19:45 BST)

Exeter make three changes, as Lee Holmes makes his first start since Boxing Day, while Jordan Tillson and Jack Stacey also return and Joel Grant, Lloyd James and Pierce Sweeney switch to the bench.

Visitors Carlisle name the same side that started Sunday's first leg, but they do welcome back Jabo Ibehre to their bench as he is passed fit after injury.

Exeter City: Olejnik, Woodman, Tillson, Harley, Holmes, Wheeler, Watkins, Moore-Taylor, Taylor, Stacey, Brown.

Carlisle: Gillespie, Grainger, Joyce, Raynes, Proctor, Adams, Bailey, Devitt, Lambe, Miller, Liddle.

It's business as usual, or at least that's how Blackpool manager Gary Bowyer is approaching this play-off semi-final second leg.

"It's half-time and we've got to approach the game in the same manner as we did on Sunday, and concentrate on our performance again," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"We've prepared no differently to how we have for the rest of the season.

"The second leg gives you pure clarity and everybody knows exactly what they have to do, and it's about going out and executing that."

Luton Town were the early League Two pacesetters, topping the table in September, leading striker Danny Hylton to say there was no reason why the Hatters could not win the title this season.

But after dropping out of the top three later that month they have never been back and hovered around fourth and fifth in the table.

Not even a seven-game unbeaten run at the end of the season could get Nathan Jones' side into the automatic promotion places - but they did finish as the side with the highest points and therefore, in theory, favourites for the play-offs.

After losing 11 and winning just five of their first 17 league games of the season, Exeter did not initially look like promotion contenders at all.

But fine form over Christmas and seven straight wins - starting on New Year's Eve - saw them climb the table and they eventually finished fifth, level on points with sixth-placed Carlisle.

The Cumbrian's campaign was almost the exact reverse, as they went until 12 November without losing, before hitting a rough patch in February.

However, finishing the regular season with five games without loss helped get them over the line and into the play-offs.

    Blackpool

As you can see from the rather helpful graph above, Blackpool's season has looked a little like the Big One ride at the seaside resort's Pleasure Beach.

Gary Bowyer's side went from 17th in October, to seventh in November, back down to 15th in February and then back up again to seventh at the end of the season to fill the last play-off spot.

If they do reach Wembley and win, it'll be a superb end to a season which has been characterised by off-field activity, rather than what's actually going on on it.

Luton Town must win tonight's game or else their season is over, and boss Nathan Jones knows it.

He says his side will be "right up for it" and go for the match positively, trying to put behind the errors in the first leg.

"We'd only conceded 17 goals away from home this season, so to concede three in one play-off game is out of character," he told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"But that's the beauty of these play-off games, anything can happen, nerves get to people and it's about how you handle them.

"They know they have made mistakes, but that's in the past now. All we can do now is look forward to a wonderful game and prepare well for it."

    Blackpool 3-2 Luton

Sometimes players just love to play against their old club.

That was seemingly the case for Blackpool striker Mark Cullen, who came back to haunt his former side in their semi-final first leg, scoring a hat-trick against Luton to give the Tangerines the advantage going into the second leg.

Cullen had put the hosts ahead at Bloomfield Road before Luton hit back with two goals in three first-half minutes to go ahead.

But Cullen curled in the equaliser before scoring from the spot as the lowest-ranked team in the play-offs defeated the highest.

    Carlisle 3-3 Exeter

This is what it looks like after you give everything you've got.

Carlisle and Exeter players dropped to their knees at the final whistle of the 3-3 draw at Brunton Park having seemingly hit the limit during the first leg of their semi-final.

Paul Tisdale's Exeter had led 3-1 in the second half, but two quickfire goals gave Keith Curle's side a dramatic draw to level this tie in the balance.

We football journalists sometimes have a habit of over-egging the pudding when building up to a match - and who really wants a soggy bottom, right Mary?

But, if tonight's League Two play-off semi-final second legs are anything like the first, we are in for a treat.

Eleven - yes, eleven - goals were scored between these four teams as they look to reach the League Two play-off final at Wembley on May 28.
