Whichever of Bolton and Fleetwood misses out on promotion this afternoon are guaranteed a play-off place alongside Scunthorpe and Bradford.

But there are three teams chasing that one remaining spot to join them - Millwall, Southend and Rochdale.

The Lions start the day in sixth and will reach the play-offs for the second successive season if they win, they draw and both Southend and Rochdale fail to win, or they lose, Southend lose and Rochdale fail to win.

Southend will pip them if the Shrimpers beat Bury and Millwall fail to win or if they draw, Millwall lose and Rochdale fail to win.

The situation is simpler for Rochdale - they must beat Bradford and hope both Millwall and Southend fail to win.

    Got it?

With Sheffield United long promoted and runaway champions, one automatic promotion place is up for grabs to join them in the Championship next season.

Bolton start the day knowing their fate is very much in their own hands.

Beat Peterborough at the Macron Stadium and an instant return to the second tier is theirs.

Even a draw will be enough if Fleetwood fail to beat Port Vale by eight goals or more.

Realistically, the Cod Army will be hoping for a Posh win and then victory over Vale will take Uwe Rosler's side up instead.
