    Sunderland v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

    Sunderland

    • Sunderland fans have seen their side won just three times in 17 attempts at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League this season (W3 D5 L9) – all three of those victories came within the space of 29 days (November 19th – December 17th).

Sunderland's mission has looked bleak for some time; defeat at Middlesbrough in the week made it impossible and 10 successive seasons in the top flight will come to an end if they fail to at least match Hull's result at Southampton.

The one remaining hope is that they go down fighting, although even that is looking increasingly unlikely. A team that have failed to score in 17 of their 32 games were always going to be in the bottom three.

Bournemouth's comfortable win against Middlesbrough last weekend was a welcome one.

Now they have been challenged to avoid their season tailing off and get the five points needed to beat last season's tally.

    Sunderland v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

Just in case you need a reminder (sorry Sunderland fans).

Sunderland will be relegated this weekend:

    • If they lose AND Hull avoid defeat at Southampton
    • If they lose AND Swansea (who play Manchester United on Sunday) win
    • If they draw AND Hull win, The Black Cats could also be “on the brink” (12 points adrift with four games left) depending on results

For all you Line of Duty enthusiasts out there.

    You'll enjoy this one.

Lawro goes up against a modern TV great in this week's predictions - none other than Line of Duty's Ted Hastings.

    Media caption,

Superintendent Hastings attempts to find out who blew DS Fleming's cover.

Actor Adrian Dunbar says his character in Line of Duty was based on a couple of football managers, but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is not one of them.

"There are a whole lot of great managers that came out of the west of Scotland - Bill Shankly, Jock Stein and Sir Alex Ferguson," he explained.

"They had great man-management skill, there is no question about it - they were able to handle people.

"Hastings had to have the same skills, where he can get the best out of everybody. I am from not far away myself so I have kind of mined that quality for him a little bit."

Meanwhile in Scotland, things have gone from bad to worse for Rangers.

They're hunting a first Old Firm win this season, but they're now 2-0 down against Celtic.

An absolute rocket from Leigh Griffiths apparently.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche: "It's now about everything we've learned over the season and delivering performances in these last four games.

"We as a club, without a shadow of a doubt, are in really good shape going into this last bunch of games.

"But we aren't naïve enough to think it takes care of itself, because it doesn't. We have to take care of what we need to."

Nerves will be jangling for this.

Realistically, Palace need one more win for safety. Six wins in eight games prior to Wednesday's defeat by Spurs suggests they have to form to do it against a Burnley side who have not won at Selhurst Park since 2001.

But injuries to Dann, Sakho and Tomkins leaves their defence looking vulnerable.

Burnley have slipped dangerously towards relegation again with just one win in 11. They've not gone a season without an away victory since 1903 but a first of the campaign will surely see them safe as well.

The Selhurst atmosphere and in-form Wilfred Zaha may edge it for Palace.

  9. Barton ban 'as short as possible'published at 12:13 British Summer Time 29 April 2017

Crystal Palace v Burnley (17:30 BST)

The Football Association says Joey Barton's 18-month suspension from all football activities was "the shortest possible" ban it could have imposed after he breached rules on gambling.

In the written reasons, external explaining Wednesday's decision, the FA revealed Barton placed 1,260 bets worth £205,172, at a loss of £16,708.

The 34-year-old Burnley midfielder has admitted he is addicted to gambling.

But the FA said a "dismissive attitude to the rules" was also a factor.

"His addiction may have distorted his thinking in part, but it is not a compete answer for this continued conduct," the FA said.

Plenty could be settled outside of the Premier League today.

Brighton will win the championship title if they beat Bristol City. At the bottom, Wigan will be relegated to League One if they fail to win or if other results go against them. Blackburn will be down if they fail to win and other results don't go their way.

In League Two, Doncaster will be champions if they win and Plymouth fail to win. Hartlepool will be relegated if they fail to win at Cheltenham and Newport win at Carlisle.

Finally, in the National League, York - who were relegated from League Two last season - could suffer their second successive relegation today.

West Brom v Leicester (15:00 BST)

Both clubs would refute the notion there is little importance attached to this game.

West Brom are chasing a club record Premier League points tally despite three straight defeats. They need six more points and, looking at their tough remaining fixtures, surely need to win this one.

Leicester aren't safe yet, having taken just one point from three games.

Leicester's Champions League exploits appear to have disrupted their domestic momentum. If their season tails off, you wonder whether the future of a few players might be up for debate.

Saturday's fixture is also notable for probably being the last Premier League outing for referee Mark Clattenburg. He was entrusted with the FA Cup, Champions League and Euro 2016 finals last year, and his departure will deprive English football of arguably its top official.

Arsenal should have a statue of all the big signings they seem to miss out on every season... I'll throw some shade at my own club too - a statue cementing our modern status as a selling club... Considering the number of players involved here, there may end up being a national shortage of bronze after this...

Stoke v West Ham (15:00 BST)

    Stoke City

    • They have failed to score in four of their previous seven league games.

    • The Potters have 39 points from 34 matches - only once before in the Premier League have they had fewer points at this stage of the season (37 in 2012-13).
    • Saido Berahino has gone 11 games without scoring for Stoke since joining from West Brom in January. He last scored in February 2016, although he has scored in three of his four starts against West Ham in the Premier League.

There are two clubs who haven't performed as well as they would have hoped this season but have managed to keep a decent buffer between themselves and those anxiously looking over their shoulders at the scramble for Premier League survival.

A single point separates the teams in the table with Stoke in 11th and West Ham lying 14th - seven points clear of the relegation zone at the moment.

It's hard to pick a winner here, with Mark Hughes' side having lost five of the last six and West Ham winning only one of the last 10, though they are unbeaten in the last three.

The League Two club's fans will be needed today as well as they could be relegated from the Football League.

Not long after he left Southampton, Dejan Lovren looked like a poor buy for Liverpool.

But the centre-back has just signed a new long-term contract at the club until 2021.

The 27-year-old moved to Anfield from Southampton in a deal worth £20m in 2014 and his current contract was due to expire next year.

Croatia defender Lovren struggled for form in his first season but has made 105 appearances in total for Liverpool, scoring four goals.
