  1. Rovers have to go for itpublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 7 May 2017

    Brentford 1-2 Blackburn

Blackburn have decided not to rely on simply hoping that Bristol City or Ipswich help them out.

They're going for goals of their own, in a bid to win by two goals more than Forest are doing, rather than defending their lead.

They've made a couple of changes to switch to a very, very attacking formation. Target man Lucas Joao is on up top.

Newcastle double their lead with a tap in from defender Chancel Mbemba.

Meanwhile, Brighton have missed a great chance to take the lead against the run of play at Villa Park.

Jamie Murphy's cross comes through to Glenn Murray but he was caught slightly off guard and couldn't direct his effort on target.

Remember, a Brighton win gives them the title regardless of the Newcastle score.

    Bristol City 0-1 Birmingham

Blackburn fans can be assured that Bristol City aren't lying down. They've made a double change - and it's attack-minded.

Forward Lee Tomlin and striker Milan Djuric come on for a right-back and a striker.

    Bristol City 0-1 Birmingham

Birmingham, don't forget, would drop into the bottom three as things stand if they were to concede a goal, with their rivals both winning.

They'll be desperate, desperate, desperate to hold onto their lead at Ashton Gate, where the home side's highest league crowd for 37 years (25,404) has just been announced.

Aston Villa 0-0 Brighton; Newcastle 1-0 Barnsley

Aston Villa still on top against Brighton but a breakdown in communication sees them blow a good chance on the counter.

Newcastle are on the hunt for a second goal against Barnsley but Yoan Gouffran and Jack Colback can not find a way through.

Nails are being chewed. Heads are being scratched. Nerves are being shredded.

Blackburn still lead, and although Forest lead 2-0, one goal for Bristol City at Ashton Gate could see Rovers safe and Birmingham down into the relegation zone.

Playoffs as it standsImage source, .

The play-off picture is looking pretty clear.

Reading are beating Burton 2-0 and will take third unless the Brewers pull off a tremendous comeback.

The Royals will face Fulham, who are drawing 1-1 at 10-man Sheffield Wednesday, and can finish no higher than sixth.

The fourth-placed Owls will face fifth-placed Huddersfield, who are losing 2-0 to Cardiff, in the play-offs.
