    Arsenal 0-0 Sunderland

Sunderland make a quick break forward and Fabio Borini tries to pick out Jermain Defoe but he's offside.

The flag is up but it looks like Didier Ndong missed the memo. He tries to keep the ball in play, and then falls over his own feet.

I'll be honest. It made me laugh. Hard.

  3. 'Arsenal have been too fragile'published at 19:43 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

    Arsenal v Sunderland (19:45 BST)

    Sir Trevor Brooking
Former West Ham and England midfielder at Emirates Stadium

Arsenal have been very fragile this season, particularly during that run of four straight away defeats recently.

Too many players were off-form and I still think the midfield is a key area where they have struggled.

Santi Cazorla missing through injury has been a massive blow for them.

  4. 'Moyes will stay'published at 19:42 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

    Arsenal v Sunderland (19:45 BST)

Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam on Monday Night Club on BBC Radio 5 live:

"Relegation is a sad time for Sunderland because they are a good football club with good supporters.

"But they been teetering on relegation for the last four or five years, it was inevitable that at one stage they would go down.

"They need a clear out and that’s the way it has to be. My personal opinion is David Moyes will stay but he needs assurances of the money that’s going to be available."

There’s only one Pablo Zabaleta - but plenty of City fans have his name and number (five) on the back of their shirt. What makes him so special then?

Outside the Etihad Stadium, Dave Leyland explains: "He is the only player I have put on my shirt in 50 years of coming to City and that’s because he is a true Blue, through and through.

“Pablo gives everything and he bleeds blue blood. And everything he has given for the club over the nine years that he has been here has been immense. He is a living legend.

“I am sorry to see him go but it is understandable because he has got slower, like we all do. But there has got to be a role for him at the club later on - if not as a coach then as an ambassador because he loves this place, and he loves Manchester - and we all love him as well."

    • Man City have won 13 of their last 14 league games against the Baggies, with the only exception being a 0-0 draw at The Hawthorns in 2011. The aggregate score across those games is 45-8 in City's favour.
    • West Brom's last league victory against City was by 2-1 at home in December 2008, when Luke Moore and Roman Bednar were on target.

  9. Sunderland need 'root and branch' clear-outpublished at 19:34 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

    Arsenal v Sunderland (19:45 BST)

    Ian Dennis
Senior football reporter at Emirates for 5 live Sport

Sunderland were wretched in the first half against Swansea at the weekend.

Fast forward to next season and of that starting XI I think no more than three players will feature. There needs to be a huge overhaul - a root and branch clear-out.

What is also required is the owner Ellis Short providing funds to make sure that new players are brought in to be equipped for Championship football.

The players there now aren't strong enough.

  11. The battle for...eighthpublished at 19:27 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

Manchester City v West Brom (20:00 BST)

One word to sum up West Brom's season: consistent.

They've been eighth since mid-December. They've owned it. No one can take it away from them - except maybe Southampton, Bournemouth and Leicester.

"Having been eighth for so long [it would be disappointing to finish lower], but if it happens it happens," said a pragmatic Tony Pulis.

"If the players hadn't turned up in games, I could criticise them but everyone has been playing at their maximum.

"I can see those top six, seven getting further away. They have the resources to make that gap bigger and bigger."

After tonight's game, West Brom finish their season at Swansea.

  12. Guardiola's 'second chance'published at 19:25 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

Manchester City v West Brom (20:00 BST)

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was in a candid mood in the news conference before today's game.

The Spaniard reckons he would have been sacked by former clubs Barcelona and Bayern Munich if he had ended a season without a trophy - like he will this year with City.

"In my situation at a big club, I'm sacked. I'm out," he said.

"If it is Barcelona and Bayern, you don't win and you are out. Here I have a second chance and I will try to do it better next season."

City have lost just one of their last 15 league games, winning eight and drawing six.

They are currently fourth in the table and may have to win both of their final league games to finish third place and earn a direct qualification into next season's Champions League.

  17. 'Wenger will demand a home victory'published at 19:14 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

    Arsenal v Sunderland (19:45 BST)

    Alistair Bruce-Ball
    Radio 5 live commentator

Liverpool's thumping win at West Ham on Sunday means it's more likely now that Arsenal will be without Champions League football for the first time in 20 seasons, but Arsene Wenger will demand a home victory to give themselves the very best chance of sneaking into that top four on the final day.

It could still come down to goal difference to decide it - Arsenal are four behind Liverpool and five behind Manchester City in that regard - and if Sunderland play as poorly as they did against Swansea at the weekend then Arsenal might fancy their chances of reducing that deficit.

David Moyes has to rally his troops for a very testing final week of the season - Sunderland's last game is away to the champions Chelsea.

  18. Arsenal on the chargepublished at 19:10 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

    Arsenal v Sunderland (19:45 BST)

We've had a lot of texts and tweets over the last few weeks about Arsenal's form. They generally contain the sentence: "If only they'd played like this all season".

Well, yes. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

The Gunners have won five of their last six league matches to make a late charge for the top four.

It's out of their hands now - they've just got to keep winning.

If they do miss out on the top four, it will be the first time in 20 years that Arsene Wenger's side haven't made the cut.

  19. Team newspublished at 19:07 British Summer Time 16 May 2017

    Arsenal v Sunderland (19:45 BST)

Arsenal fans - and fantasy football managers up and down the land (it is a double gameweek) - rejoice: Alexis Sanchez is fit enough to start.

The Chile forward had been struggling with a thigh injury, but lines up alongside Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud in a three-pronged attack.

Arsene Wenger makes just two changes to his starting XI from Saturday's win at Stoke, defender Laurent Koscielny and midfielder Francis Coquelin going out to be replaced by Kieran Gibbs and Aaron Ramsey.

David Moyes also makes two changes for already-relegated Sunderland's final Premier League away game for a while.

Skipper Lee Cattermole returns from injury to bolster the midfield, while Bryan Oviedo is back after a five-week absence.

Benfica defender Eliseu decided it was a good idea to celebrate the Portuguese club's fourth successive title by jumping on a moped, doing doughnuts in the dressing room, and then taking it everywhere else with him.

    Seems legit.

It got us thinking...what are the best/worst celebrations ever?
