I would have thought this would have been a perfect re-introduction.

Austin really is a great player.

Meanwhile, Southampton bring off a limping Cedric and replace him with Jeremy Pied.

Wayne Rooney unselfishly lays a cute ball off to Juan Mata who puts his first-time shot over the bar.

A silly challenge from Phil Jones, right on the cusp of the penalty area, on a leaping Cedric Soares.

Southampton get a free-kick in a dangerous position and United defender Jones is rightly booked.

Eric Bailly loves a bit of drama at the start of a half.

Having given away a penalty after five minutes, the Man United defender clashes with Matt Targett on the edge of the area.
