    For the first time since May 2000, John Terry will be lining up for a club side other than Chelsea.

    The new Aston Villa skipper makes his debut along with fellow summer recruits Ahmed Elmohamady and Glenn Whelan.

    Hull City boss Leonid Slutsky gives a second Tigers debut to striker Frazier Campbell.

    The first hat-trick of the new EFL season goes to Luton Town's James Collins as the goal fest continues at Kenilworth Road.

    The Hatters are now 7-2 ahead after Collins got his third and then Yeovil pulled back a consolation through Francois Zoko.

    Forest Green's 2-0 lead has now been wiped out by visitors Barnet. Winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce with the equaliser for the visitors just past the hour.

    It's an eventful game at Crewe where four goals have been shared between them and promotion favourites Mansfield Town.

    Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves is not the only £15m man on show in this game.

    Middlesbrough striker Britt Assombalonga has a big tag to justify and he nearly opens his account for his new club but Wolves goalkeeper John Ruddy is down smartly to deny him.

    In another of our goalless Championship fixtures, Cardiff are also still pressing hard for an opening goal.

    Kenneth Zohore has again come close, having a shot tipped over by Stephen Bywater.

    Callum Robinson once again goes close to giving Preston the lead at Deepdale against Sheffield Wednesday.

    That's twice this half the striker has caused Keiren Westwood alarms in the Wednesday goal. This time he curls one just wide of the far post.

    More goals at Kenilworth Road after the six before half-time between Luton and Yeovil.

    The Hatters now lead 6-1 on the hour mark following James Collins' second of the game.

    Lincoln are back level at Wycombe thanks to Josh Ginnelly making it 2-2. New boys Forest Green have been pegged back to 2-1 by Barnet with Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro pulling a goal back for the visitors.

    Swindon, relegated from League One last season, still lead at Carlisle 2-1 after a goal for either side this since the break.

    Peterborough have doubled their advantage against Plymouth courtesy of a Junior Morais goal.

    Club captain Brett Pitman has scored his first goal for Portsmouth to give them a 1-0 lead at Fratton Park against 10-man Rochdale.

    Signs of a recovery for Blackburn Rovers, who now trail Southend 2-1 thanks to Charlie Mulgrew's goal.

    Opening day disasters

    Mr Green: Took my two boys to their first ever game of football when #ncfc, external lost 7-1 to Colchester. Surprisingly one of them DID become a fan.

    He's probably pleased he did, Norwich went on to win successive promotions after that game!

    Preston 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

    Not been a lot to get excited about at Deepdale so far between Preston and Sheffield Wednesday.

    Callum Robinson has headed a half-chance for the hosts straight at Owls keeper Keiren Westwood who then has to push a Seani Maguire cross away from danger.

    But that's been pretty much it for goal mouth incident in either half.

    There wasn't too much to write home about from Burton-Cardiff in the first half, but the Bluebirds have come out like a train at the start of this second half.

    Sol Bamba has come closest to opening the scoring, only to be brilliantly denied by a point-blank save from Stephen Bywater. Still 0-0.

    Opening day disasters

    Yeovil got their season off to a great start when they took the lead after just seven minutes at Luton.

    Sadly, it's been very rapidly downhill since and they now trail 5-1.

    To compound their misery Otis Khan, scorer of their early goal, saw a penalty saved just before the break.

    With that in mind, we'd like to hear your opening day disasters.

    League One new boys Wigan Athletic have had a mixed start to life back in the third tier.

    Ex-Manchester United youngster Nick Powell put the Latics ahead against MK Dons, but they've just been reduced to 10 men with Callum Elder receiving a red card.

    Bradford City and newly-promoted Blackpool exchanged late first-half goals from Nathaniel Knight-Percival and Colin Daniel and are level at 1-1.
