    League One round-up

There's only one place to start in League One at the midway point - the New York Stadium.

Rotherham's on-loan Ipswich striker Kieffer Moore has bagged a first-half hat-trick as the Millers are already 4-0 up on Southend.

The only other home side to be leading at half time are Blackpool, who are a goal up on MK Dons, while Shrewsbury, Peterborough, Bradford and Oldham are all 1-0 ahead on their travels.

Fulham are still goalless at Reading, despite having defender Tomas Kalas sent off after 39 seconds at the Madejski.

Cardiff, Wolves, Nottingham Forest and QPR are on course to follow up their opening-day wins with victories today.

Bristol City led inside a minute at Birmingham, who have pegged back the Robins, while 10-man Burton are level at 1-1 with Hull.

Barnsley are in front against Ipswich, while Millwall-Bolton and Leeds-Preston remain goalless.

  4. Warnock works his magicpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

HT: Cardiff City 1-0 Aston Villa

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport at the Cardiff City Stadium

Neil Warnock's pre-season training regimes are the stuff of legend, renowned for their gruelling intensity.

They seem to have done the trick for Cardiff, who look much fitter and sharper at the start of their first full campaign under the 68-year-old.

The Bluebirds have run an unimpressive Villa ragged in south Wales, and could easily be further ahead.

  5. Reading frustrated by Fulhampublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Reading 0-0 Fulham

Reading are absolutely dominating proceedings against 10-man Fulham, but still they can't score.

The hosts have had nearly 70% of possession, but only two of their seven shots have tested David Button so far.

  6. goal

GOAL - Brentford 1-2 Nottingham Forestpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Daryl Murphy

Five minutes after they fell behind, Nottingham Forest take the lead.

Tendayi Darikwa's left-footed effort rebounds kindly off the post into the path of Daryl Murphy, who taps in his first goal for the Reds.

  7. goal

GOAL - Brentford 1-1 Nottingham Forestpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Andreas Bouchalakis

    Stunner.

Against the run of play, Nottingham Forest are level at Griffin Park.

Brentford fail to clear their lines, the ball dropping for Andreas Bouchalakis to volley into the bottom corner.

And it gets worse for Brentford moments later...

Rotherham have further increased their lead, Joe Newell putting the Millers 3-0 to the good at home to Southend - I'd love to be a fly on the wall for Phil Brown's half-time team talk.

Elsewhere, Dominic Poleon has Bradford ahead at Gillingham, while Ryan McLaughlin has got himself on the scoresheet for Oldham to put them in the ascendancy at Walsall.

  9. RED CARD (Jackson Irvine)published at 15:41 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Hull 1-1 Burton

Jackson Irvine, Burton's goalscorer at Hull, goes from hero to villain. He's been sent off for a second yellow card, following a foul on Jarrod Bowen.

  10. goal

GOAL - Brentford 1-0 Nottingham Forestpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    John Egan

For once, the team I said was on top doesn't concede a minute later.

Instead, Brentford take the lead over Nottingham Forest, John Egan loopsa header home from Florian Jozefzoon's pinpoint delivery.

It's a deserved lead, you have to say.

  11. Bees on top against Forestpublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Brentford 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Brentford are just starting to edge proceedings at home to Nottingham Forest.

Jota has a chance to head the hosts in front after a corner isn't cleared effectively, but he instead nods the ball into the arms of Jordan Smith.

Nico Yennaris then gets a shooting opportunity on the edge of the box, but fails to make proper contact.

  12. Postpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

Two equalisers elsewhere in the Championship.

Craig Gardner shows that he still has a sweet strike on him, his low drive finding the net from the edge of the area to put Birmingham level at home to Bristol City.

Burton are also back on level terms - Jackson Irvine curling into the top corner to peg Hull back to 1-1.

  13. goal

GOAL - Derby 0-1 Wolvespublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Barry Douglas

    Wolves break the deadlock!

Derby fail to clear Bright Enobakhare's cross, and the ball falls to left-back Barry Douglas to smash the ball back across goal and into the far corner.

It's the Scotsman's first goal since joining Wolves from Konyaspor in July.

  14. Kelly goes closepublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Reading 0-0 Fulham

David Button goes from zero to hero in seconds.

The Fulham goalkeeper gets a kick all wrong, sending it straight to Reading's Liam Kelly.

He atones for his error though, reacting sharply to turn Kelly's shot behind for a corner.

  15. League Two updatepublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

Port Vale have only just been relegated to League Two, but if they thought they'd have it easy they're mistaken - they're already 3-0 down at home to Wycombe, Adebayo Akinfenwa scoring twice and the now-injured Paris Cowan-Hall getting the other.

Perry Ng has been sent off for Crewe, who were trailing at home to Newport, but despite the man disadvantage Chris Dagnall has put the Alex level.

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 QPR

    Jamie MackieImage source, Rex Features

QPR were given what looked an horrendous start by the fixture computer, but they're making light of that.

After beating Reading on the opening day, Rangers are 1-0 up at Sheffield Wednesday with a goal from Jamie Mackie.

  17. Postpublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Birmingham 0-1 Bristol City

    Brendon Mitchell
    BBC Sport at St Andrew's

It took Bristol City until December to score a first-half goal at Ashton Gate last season - but already one week into 2017-18 the Robins are becoming the Championship's fastest starters.

They've now scored eight times in the first 30 minutes of games in their first three league and cup fixtures.

However, they do have a remarkable Joe Bryan clearance off the line, from Che Adams' shot, to thank for keeping it 1-0.

  18. Fulham soak up the pressurepublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Reading 0-0 Fulham

It seems a matter of when Reading will score, not if.

Fulham are sitting back and absorbing waves of Royals attacks at present, with David Button by far the busier of the two keepers.

Barnsley have been tipped to go down by many, with Andy Yiadom their latest star seemingly set to leave Oakwell, but Tom Bradshaw has headed them in front against Ipswich after an overhead kick fell into his path.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing is the early hero for Cardiff, rising at the far post to put the Welsh side ahead against Aston Villa.

  20. Stalemate at Derbypublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

    Derby 0-0 Wolves

    Derby v WolvesImage source, Empics

Derby and Wolves have both been tipped as promotion or play-off candidates in a crowded Championship field this season.

Perhaps they're a little too evenly matched, as the two sides are cancelling each other out in the early stages.

Neither side has managed an effort on target in the first 20 minutes.
