Matt Temple: Andre Dozzell of Ipswich, closely followed by Flynniesta (Flynn Downes).

Jamie Allen: Real shame Andre Dozzell got injured in the first game of what was to be his breakthrough season. Downes & Nydam stepping up.

Sadly, Andre Dozzell suffered a serious knee injury in last Saturday's win over Birmingham and will miss most, if not all, of the season. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Birmingham v Bristol City (15:00 BST)

You know the transfer market has gone a bit bonkers when even Harry Redknapp, deal-maker extraordinaire, can't wait for the window to close.

Speaking to Football Focus, the Birmingham boss says signing players on loan is also proving difficult and rather expensive...

John Terry's Aston Villa debut a week ago ended in a 1-1 draw with Hull City at Villa Park.

The 36-year-old's task today will be to keep Cardiff striker Kenneth Zohore quiet.

Denmark Under-21 international Zohore curled in a late winner in the Welsh side's 1-0 win at Burton on the opening day.

Sign a new contract, then score twice on the opening day of the season - it wasn't a bad start to the campaign for Kalvin Phillips.

The midfielder helped new Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen get off to a winning start with a 3-2 victory at Bolton.

It was a winning start, too, for Preston's Alex Neil. North End, who beat Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 a week ago, are at Elland Road today.

Fulham have the chance to settle some scores with Reading today.

It's less than three months since Reading beat Fulham in their Championship play-off semi-final and, had things turned out differently at Wembley, the Royals could have been preparing for Premier League football this afternoon.

Instead, Jaap Stam's men - who lost their opening match to QPR - are up against a Fulham side that began the campaign with a home draw against Norwich.

Wolves won the battle of the Championship's big spenders on day one, defeating Middlesbrough 1-0 with a first-half goal from debutant Leo Bonatini.

Derby are the opposition for Nuno Espirito Santo's men today.

The Rams opened the campaign with a 1-1 draw at Sunderland and are in action at Pride Park for the first time this season.

Brentford v Nottingham Forest (15:00 BST)

Mark Warburton admitted to disappointment at not being able to try to take Brentford into the Premier League following his dismissal, but the Forest boss sounds like he's happy to be back at Griffin Park this afternoon.

"It's a tremendous old football ground. There is a great atmosphere, a good playing surface and a good team," he said.

"I am very much looking forward to going back, seeing some old friends and hopefully delivering a good performance.

"I was there a long time. I had tremendous backing and support from the board. We saw the squad build and develop and I have very fond memories."

  9. Warburton makes Brentford returnpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 12 August 2017

Mark Warburton had an impressive career as Brentford manager by anybody's standards.

The 54-year-old led the Bees to promotion from League One, and had the club sitting seventh in the Championship in February 2015, so it came as a surprise when owner Matthew Benham announced he would not return for the 2015-16 season.

This afternoon, Warburton returns to Griffin Park for the first time since his departure, having led his Nottingham Forest side to a 1-0 win over Millwall in their opening game of the season, followed by a 2-1 win against Shrewsbury in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

Brentford were beaten at newly-promoted Sheffield United last weekend, so they will be hoping to get off the mark against the Reds.

We're only one game in and all managers claim they don't look at the table until at least November, but the first weeks of a season often sees teams you don't expect sit top of the tree.

Take Bristol City for example - their 3-1 win over Barnsley has them looking down on the rest of the Championship... they may not finish there, but you can bet their fans have been milking it for all it's worth!

It's destination St Andrews for Lee Johnson's side this afternoon - can they stay at the summit?

It was quite a summer for England's youngsters, winning the Under-19 European Championships and the Under-20 World Cup in South Korea.

Five of the 21 players in that World Cup-winning squad were signed to English Football League teams at the time of their selection, while a handful more spent time on loan in the EFL last season.

A host of young players made their mark in 2016-17, with Ryan Sessegnon starring for Fulham, Ollie Watkins winning the EFL's Young Player of the Year while at Exeter and Che Adams a standout performer in a difficult season for Birmingham.
