Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer speaking to Sky Sports: "We played almost 90 minutes very solid. We frustrated Liverpool sometimes and we were very organised. We played a little deeper but also that was because Liverpool are a team you have to respect.

"We have to fight every minute together. In 15 minutes we lost the game at Selhurst Park and today we were 95 minutes very concentrated and one unlucky touch we conceded the goal.

"I am happy with the spirit, not the result but we can build from here."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe: "I thought we were very disappointing and I'm scratching my head as to why. I was expecting a good performance today, especially with the side I picked, but that didn't materialise.

"It was quite even at half-time, even though I didn't think we played very well. But we were still in the game, but in the second half we fell away, became bitty and got punished.

"If we had hung on longer it could have been different but I can't turn around and say Watford didn't deserve it.

"I'm concerned generally and especially because we have not looked like scoring. That's the biggest problem and there is a lot for us to work on.

"We now have Manchester City and Arsenal, so we need to react very quickly."

Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a hard job. I have no idea how much we had the ball but it was a lot. We had moments in the first half but had to be more patient because they were deep.

"We didn't score but we didn't give counter attacks away. Second half we did it better, the first part was really good. We were really awake and defended really well and I loved the goal because it was not a clear situation. It was a counter pressing situation. We had other chances but I am completely happy with how we did the job today.

"Anfield helps a lot I think today it was the difference."

West Ham United

West Ham striker Javier Hernandez: "When you are running most of the game with 10 men, the penalty decision is harsh. We spoke about Marko Arnautovic’s sending off, it is not completely a red card.

“It shows the character of this team that we do not give up. You have to look at the positives and to look forward. It is hard with 11 men but with 10 men it is even harder.

“I gained motivation and confidence and happy I scored two but the result is what stays in your head.”

Watford scorer Etienne Capoue on his team's unbeaten start to the season: "We did well last week and finished with a draw but it was a tough game against Liverpool. We have kept going the right way and we deserved the three points today. We created a lot of chances but didn't score until the end."

On the impact of the Hornets' new signings: "Andre Gray is a good player and he has fitted in well with the rest of the players. We need this type of player. With Richarlison we did not expect a good start like this because it is difficult when you come from another country. But we have seen already in training that he wants to show he can do well in the Premier League."

Southampton striker Charlie Austin: "A great first win of the season. The lads worked so hard for the result. We threw away a two goal lead but we got out of jail.

"I don't know if it was a penalty or not. It was 50-50, delighted for us but you would not be happy if it was against you.

"You can see what they have with Javier Hernandez, he put away two rebounds but a good win for us.

"I was going to his right for the penalty, but then Mark Noble said Joe Hart knows where you are going, so I put it into the other side."

Liverpool

Liverpool goalscorer Sadio Mane speaking to Sky Sports: "It was important to get three points. I am very happy to score goals, every striker wants to score goals."

Full-back Andrew Robertson: "I am delighted to play. The gaffer made a few changes but we think our squad is good enough that anyone can come in and can compete for a place. We proved that today.

"Before the game he (Klopp) said go and play your normal game and there was bit more space down the left than the right in the first half.

"It is brilliant to be here. I have managed to settle in. I have work to do but hopefully I will get there and kick on."

You obviously can't read too much into the Premier League table after two games but here's the top of it after today's action so far.

Manchester United and West Brom are the only two sides to win both games they've played while Huddersfield, who play Newcastle tomorrow, slip out of the European places...

It looked like Slaven Bilic waited for referee Lee Mason in the tunnel at the end of the game. You can understand why.

Liverpool had a very good last 20 minutes but the previous 70 were average at best. In the last 20 Hennessey stopped this being two, three or four. Palace were far better than against Huddersfield last week but Liverpool deserved to win this game.

All over. Leicester's season is up and running with a well-earned win.
