  1. goal

GOAL - Leicester 2-0 Brightonpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

    Harry Maguire (54 mins)

It's a second for Leicester and a first for the club for Harry Maguire. The defender, signed from Hull in the summer, powers in a header from Riyad Mahrez's corner.

It will take a massive effort from Brighton to get something from this one now.

  2. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

    Southampton 2-1 West Ham

Javier Hernandez almost gets his second. I think that's a cross from wide on the left but it drifts beyond Jack Stephens and Fraser Forster has to shake out a giant paw and turn it away. Good start to the half from the 10 men, who want a handball now!

  3. CLOSE!published at 16:09 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

    Liverpool 0-0 Crystal Palace

Free-kick to Liverpool right on the edge of the area. Get it over the wall and it's a goal...

James Milner stands up, dinks one, just over!

  4. CLOSE!published at 16:08 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

    Bournemouth 0-0 Watford

A lively start to the second half - although it doesn't take much to up the excitement levels after a dour first half.

Steve Cook heads straight at Heurelho Gomes for the hosts before Nordin Amrabat highlights why he hasn't scored a goal for Watford in 40 games with a volley that goes out for a throw.

It's not been a vintage afternoon for West Ham so far. Michail Antonio has just taken a knock and is not moving too freely.

    Leicester 1-0 Brighton

Riyad Mahrez attempts a bit of cheeky skill early in the second half with a little pirouette on the ball but Brighton have stuck three players on him now and crowd out the Leicester winger.

Liverpool almost caught out at the back straight from kick-off as it's two v two at the back but Joe Gomez recovers really well to sweep up.

  11. 'Quite some first half'published at 16:00 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

    Southampton 2-1 West Ham

    Jonathan Overend
    BBC Radio 5 live

What an eventful half that was. Three goals, some ridiculous challenges with one red card - there could have been more - and an odd situation when West Ham pulled one back.

Javier Hernandez, the scorer, celebrated on his own as none of his team-mates seemed interested in joining him.

West Ham look angry and disparate but thanks to Michail Antonio's brilliance, setting up the goal, they're back in it. For now.

Nick Hughes: Salah on for Sturridge at half-time? Use his pace to get in behind, always finds chances

Carl: Chicharito! Hope he has a good season - should never have been sold by LVG. Would still be a great option off the bench

Ryan: Only thing falling faster than West Ham Utd goal difference is Slaven's odds of being sacked, really worried for this season

    Southampton 2-1 West Ham

West Ham are down to 10 men but they could have had Mark Noble sent off as well in that first half. I've just seen his challenge on Mario Lemina again and it's very, very poor.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Watford

    Mark Mitchener
    BBC Sport at Vitality Stadium

Far from a classic, this game has been tame at times, disjointed at others, with the occasional feisty moment when the tackles have flown in and tempers have risen.

But with the quality of Jermain Defoe and Troy Deeney on the sides' respective benches, fair to expect both managers to use their substitutes sooner rather than later.

    Southampton 2-1 West Ham

Rash decisions from both Marko Arnautovic and Jose Fonte have left West Ham with plenty to do at St Mary's. Javier Hernandez has given them hope though with a typically predatory finish just before the break.

Marko Arnautovic's elbow was already up before he started to run, so you can see his intention was there.

The referee has no choice but to give him a straight red card.

A chance for Andre Gray right on the whistle as he lashes over the bar from a decent position.
