Southampton 2-1 West Ham

It's not been a vintage afternoon for West Ham so far. Michail Antonio has just taken a knock and is not moving too freely.

West Brom have the ball in the net in front of their travelling support but the flag was disallowed for Jake Livermore being offside in the build-up.

Riyad Mahrez attempts a bit of cheeky skill early in the second half with a little pirouette on the ball but Brighton have stuck three players on him now and crowd out the Leicester winger.

Liverpool almost caught out at the back straight from kick-off as it's two v two at the back but Joe Gomez recovers really well to sweep up.

Whistles go up and down the country as the action gets back under way.

What an eventful half that was. Three goals, some ridiculous challenges with one red card - there could have been more - and an odd situation when West Ham pulled one back.

Javier Hernandez, the scorer, celebrated on his own as none of his team-mates seemed interested in joining him.

West Ham look angry and disparate but thanks to Michail Antonio's brilliance, setting up the goal, they're back in it. For now.

West Ham are down to 10 men but they could have had Mark Noble sent off as well in that first half. I've just seen his challenge on Mario Lemina again and it's very, very poor.

Far from a classic, this game has been tame at times, disjointed at others, with the occasional feisty moment when the tackles have flown in and tempers have risen.

But with the quality of Jermain Defoe and Troy Deeney on the sides' respective benches, fair to expect both managers to use their substitutes sooner rather than later.

Rash decisions from both Marko Arnautovic and Jose Fonte have left West Ham with plenty to do at St Mary's. Javier Hernandez has given them hope though with a typically predatory finish just before the break.
