    Liverpool 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Juliette Ferrington
    BBC Radio 5 live

We have a fan who sits behind our commentary position at Anfield who never fails to make us smile or tear our hair out during matches. We've already given him the eyes - he's rather passionate with his language - but his head has been in his hands three times so far, and he almost came over the metal barriers when Matip missed and headed wide of goal.

    Southampton 1-0 West Ham

New Saints man Mario Lemina has a minute of action he won't forget. First, he appears to elbow Marko Arnautovic as the two contest for a header, Mark Noble doesn't like it and goes in high and hard on him. The referee doesn't take any action and Lemina then blocks the ball with his chest, leaving him in a winded heap.

    Liverpool 0-0 Crystal Palace

Not much for Liverpool to shout about in this opening half hour but that's nice from the freshly-shorn Daniel Sturridge. He picks a ball out of the sky, beats a man and then toe-pokes a dipping effort over the bar.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Watford

Andre Gray is growing into this game as he becomes more and more familiar with his new team-mates. Some good work by the striker allows him to ping in a cross from the right, but Bournemouth clear.

  5. Postpublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

    Burnley 0-0 West Brom

A right old scrum in the West Brom penalty box ends with Jeff Hendrick swinging a boot at the far post, his shot is well blocked though by a scrambling West Brom defence. Burnley knocking on the door as Albion struggle to keep the ball.

  6. CLOSE!published at 15:23 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

    Southampton 1-0 West Ham

Much better from West Ham. Javier Hernandez drifts out to the right wing and flashes in a low cross of real quality, hard to deal with. Marko Arnautovic reads it, gets there first but his stooping header can only hit Fraser Forster in the chest and Saints clear.

    Liverpool 0-0 Crystal Palace

Liverpool are favouring attacks down the left-hand side of the pitch, with debutant Andrew Robertson getting into the opposition half at every opportunity.

The former Hull full-back has made a total of 23 passes so far, 11 of which have been in Palace's half of the pitch.

Ahmed Hegazi, West Brom's new centre-back, is off having treatment after taking a flailing arm to the eyebrow a moment or two ago. Plenty of blood on the front of his shirt.

    Leicester 1-0 Brighton

Twenty minutes and Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has just had his first touch of the ball, Wes Morgan passing the ball to him to probably test that his team-mate is actually still awake. No shots on goal yet for Brighton.

Bournemouth in control at the moment but Watford have had their moments, the most recent of which is a free header for Nathaniel Chalobah but he heads wide from six yards.

Better from West Ham as fit-again Michail Antonio has a header saved by Fraser Forster. Saints winger Dusan Tadic needs treatment for a knock but looks like he should be OK, as Nathan Redmond then tests Joe Hart from range.

A sighter of goal at Turf Moor, Jeff Hendrick lines one up left-footed from the corner of the area and bends it just beyond the dive of Ben Foster, but also beyond the far corner.

  14. CLOSE!published at 15:17 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

    Leicester 1-0 Brighton

Big chance for Leicester to double their lead as Markus Suttner shows Shinji Okazaki too much of the ball and the forward grabs the opportunity to pinch it and break into the area. He crosses low for Jamie Vardy, but the striker fluffs his first attempt and then air kicks his second. Lucky escape for the visitors.

Just take a look at the average position of those Brighton defenders (right graphic), being pushed towards their own penalty area by Leicester.

The Foxes players are full of confidence after taking an early lead, with Kasper Schmeichel having nothing to do so far.

No real response as yet from West Ham. This early season run of games away from home may prove for a difficult start,

    Trevor Sinclair

Andy Cole used to score goals like that all the time - he wouldn't hit them cleanly but they'd find the corner.

He doesn't really need to look at the goal, he knows where it is and he instinctively pulls the trigger.

Bad, bad defending by West Ham, though.

    Liverpool 0-0 Crystal Palace

What a miss! Joel Matip has missed a sitter for Liverpool. Andrew Robertson bends in a brilliant cross from the left, Wayne Hennessey gets his angles all wrong, gets under the ball and misses it. All Matip has to do is head into an empty net but he screws his effort wide off the side of his face.

    50p head.

Joe Gomez is available every single time. He can afford to push on to almost play as a right winger and cause Crystal Palace all sorts of problems.

No shots on target yet at Turf Moor, a very windy Turf Moor if the corner flags are anything to go by.
