    Leicester 1-0 Brighton

Glenn Murray is no longer hobbling and he makes a smart run from left to right across his marker to get in behind. He swivels as the ball drops over his shoulder and finds the net across the keeper with aplomb. It's all really nice stuff other than the fact he was a yard or two offside.

    Leicester 1-0 Brighton

A little better from Brighton as Bruno overlaps from right-back to fire a low cross across the box which Kasper Schmeichel holds.

At the other end Wilfred Ndidi tries to send Jamie Vardy clear but Brighton keeper Mat Ryan wins the race and slides at the striker's feet.

Riyad Mahrez wriggles in the area but his cross is blocked. Throw in... Mahrez again... swings a cross in... held by the keeper.

Just take a look at the average position of those Brighton defenders (right graphic), being pushed towards their own penalty area by Leicester.

The Foxes players are full of confidence after taking an early lead, with Kasper Schmeichel having nothing to do so far.

  6. CLOSE!published at 16 mins

    Leicester 1-0 Brighton

Comical play at the back by Brighton left-back Markus Suttner as he attempts a pass but barely makes contact with the ball. Shinji Okazaki is in behind him and closing in on goal from a narrow angle. The cut-back finds Jamie Vardy.... miss-kick... and again... doesn't get hold of it.

That was a real opening but Vardy just couldn't get any purchase on it. Brighton need to be sat down and given a bit of a shake right now.

A long Marc Albrighton ball down the left resembles a rugby kick for territory and with Jamie Vardy chasing him down, Dale Stephens kicks for touch. In comes a long throw from Christian Fuchs, well defended and headed clear.

    Leicester 1-0 Brighton

Glenn Murray has a problem for Brighton and is hobbling around. He seems to have hurt his right leg as he's barely putting weight on it.

    Leicester 1-0 Brighton

The opening 10 minutes show Leicester are on top in terms of territory and possession.

Jamie Murphy begins an attack down the Brighton left which sees Solly March hit one from range, only for it to be blocked by the legs of a defender.

Shinji Okazaki has two goals in two games, that's an ideal way to do your business when your club has shelled out £25m on Kelechi Iheanacho.

This was a simple finish, he side-footed it under the keeper with ease.

He's after a second and tries to wriggle into room on the edge of the box but gets crowded out. It's one-way stuff. Brighton's 4-4-1-1 formation looks organised but they are timid with the ball.

    Leicester 1-0 Brighton

Brighton try to play out from the back admirably, but they never look comfortable and the ball is won back by the home side near the halfway line. Riyad Mahrez and Danny Simpson link down the left only for Brighton to scramble the ball clear. The game is yet to settle properly, not that Leicester will care.

  12. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Leicester 1-0 Brighton

That's such a perfect start for Craig Shakespeare's side.

Riyad Mahrez looked back to his best with his dip of the shoulder to create space before the shot which led to the goal.

The Foxes come forward again and Marc Albrighton's free-kick is headed wide by Wes Morgan from 10 yards.

Leicester 1-0 Brighton - Shinji Okazaki

    leicesterImage source, .

Less than a minute on the clock and Brighton's first away trip in the Premier League looks tougher already. They start well, building an attack down the left but when Leicester mount their own surge, Riyad Mahrez is slick in drifting in from the left flank to shoot straight at the keeper.

It should be held, it isn't and Shinji Okazaki taps under the keeper from six yards. Mathew Ryan will be disappointed with that one.

Brighton seem to have nabbed a true work horse in signing Pascal Gross this summer. The midfielder, who joined from German side IngolStadt, ran further than any other player in the Premier League last weekend.

A whopping 12.8km in the bank. Good man, Pascal!

  17. 'Vardy has fallen back in love with the game'published at 14:58 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

    Trevor Sinclair
    Ex-England winger on Final Score

Jamie Vardy has had a good summer break and you have to say at the Emirates last week he was sensational, and very, very unfortunate to be on the losing side.

He has the look of a player who has fallen back in love with the game, full of zest and enthusiasm. When he's in that kind of form he's hard to play against.

  18. Flames and Foxespublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

    Leicester v Brighton (15:00 BST)

We have players in the tunnel. Brighton captain Bruno holds his palms out in front of him and says a prayer. Referee Lee Probert has a chat to one or two players and Leicester captain Wes Morgan looks as relaxed as ever. The sound of Kasabian begins to blast in the stadium...

One take control of me, you're messing with the enemy...

The local band's tune ends abruptly so some trumpets can play out. It's a beautiful sight in fairness, flames spit from blasters aside the pitch and blue and white flags flutter across the stadium. It's all orchestrated and looks a picture.

Now I'll put it out there, Jamie Vardy was transferred into my fantasy football team this week. I liked the cut of his jib in last weekend's Leicester defeat at Arsenal.

    VardyImage source, .

Vards is my man because I fancy him to start the season well but I didn't know he was such a creator until seeing this stat today. Only Liverpool's James Milner has more assists since the start of the 2014-15 campaign. I'll have to put a cheeky bid in for him too.

  20. 'More pace needed'published at 14:51 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

    Leicester v Brighton (15:00 BST)

    Glenn MurrayImage source, Getty Images

Earlier this week, former Brighton manager Micky Adams told the BBC the club needed more pace up front and a new face at centre-back in order to boost their survival hopes.

"Chances were few and far between and they were feeding off scraps," he said when analysing the defeat against Manchester City.

In addressing the pace issue, Chris Hughton brings Glenn Murray into the side, not quite the pace injection then!

Still, on the plus side for Brighton fans, they sealed a deal to bring in Colombia international winger Jose Izquierdo for a club-record fee on Wednesday.
