  1. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

    Watford 0-0 Brighton

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the Watford changing room if Nordin Amrabat decides to go for a shower now. He's the man hooked as Marco Silva makes a tactical shuffle after that red card for Miguel Britos. Amrabat, who was bright in the opening 20 minutes, looks furious.

On comes Craig Cathcart to bolster the depleted home defence.

I have no doubt in my mind that is a red card. I have not seen a tackle like that in 40 years.

It's a shocker. And he has the audacity to complain!

That is a leg breaker. An incredibly dangerous challenge.

    Straight red. Absolutely no question.

  4. RED CARD - Miguel Britospublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

    Watford 0-0 Brighton

    Stupid. Senseless. Straight red.

What exactly is going through Miguel Britos' head here? The plot is lost. The Watford defender launches himself off the floor, two-footed, in a bid to catch Anthony Knockaert.

It's like a move off Tekken.

Luckily there isn't too much contact with Knockaert - albeit more than enough - meaning the Brighton man is not hurt too seriously.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Southampton

From one end to the other in a blink and Huddersfield almost score. Keeper Jonas Lossl plucks out a cross, flinging out to Elias Kachunga who storms down the right before pulling back to Rajiv van la Parra. But the Dutchman's shot is blocked by an away shirt.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Swansea

Let's touch in with Selhurst Park. Not a great deal to tell you I'm afraid.

Neither keeper has made a save yet, although Palace are starting to tidily knock the ball about. Not quite Total Football, but it is a start.

Patrick van Aanholt's cross from the left is begging from a blue and red shirt to meet it. None are forthcoming.

    Newcastle 0-0 West Ham

One to get the home fans going. The ball drops invitingly for Isaac Hayden on the edge of the Hammers box, whacking a dipping volley just over the bar. Pretty even opening 20 minutes, Newcastle just starting to get on top.

    Newcastle 0-0 West Ham

Javier Hernandez, you sneaky young man. The West Ham striker shoulder barges Matt Ritchie out of the way on the touchline, a revenge mission of sorts after the Newcastle winger clattered him a few moments ago, after the ball is on. However, it is not that sneaky - the linesman spotted it and booked him.

    Huddersfield are controlling this game.

They are very relaxed, look confident and keeping the ball well. If they get three points out of this they are flying.

    Watford 0-0 Brighton

Ooof. You don't much closer... Brighton winger Anthony Knockaert curls goalwards, beats Heurelho Gomes but not the left-hand post.

    Watford 0-0 Brighton

Brighton haven't scored a Premier League goal yet. This could have been one if more people had busted a gut to get in the box. Pascal Gross races down the left, but his ball is met by empty space.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Southampton

Let off for Huddersfield. Rapid Southampton winger Nathan Redmond burns off Terriers skipper Tommy Smith as he bursts into the left side of the box... square it! Manolo Gabbiadini is begging for the bal, but Redmond goes for goal, bending the ball just past the far post.

  13. Postpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

    Watford 0-0 Brighton

Indeed that free-kick does cook up a chance for Watford. Tom Cleverley whips in the set-piece, Nathanial Chalobah's header is hacked off the line. Moments later, Nordin Amrabat escapes down the right again, drilling a ball across the box that only needs a touch. Thankfully for Brighton it doesn't get one.

    Newcastle 0-0 West Ham

Joselu is making his first start for Newcastle and he's presented with a half chance. Unfortunately it comes off the Spanish striker's shin and pings out towards the corner flag...

Free-kick for Watford on the right edge of the Brighton box after Nordin Amrabat is hauled down. Chance?

What can I tell you about this game? Very little. A game of cat and mouse between two teams lacking a bit of confidence on the evidence of the opening five minutes.

The Premier League won't give you time.

  18. Postpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Swansea

A glance of an opening for Swansea. Tammy Abraham, peels off to the right flank, whipping in a dangerous cross towards Jordan Ayew. Ayew gets his head to the ball, but can't get it on target. He also receives a whack on the head by Timothy Fosu-Mensah's boot for good measure.

  19. Postpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

    Huddersfield 0-0 Southampton

Steve Mounie looks to be the signing of the summer. On the evidence of 180 minutes, anyway. He's a real unit. The Huddersfield striker barges Maya Yoshida out of the way to win back possession on the edge of the Saints area, moments before Rajiv van la Parra blasts over the bar.

  20. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

Peep, peep, peeeep! Four whistles pierce the air almost simultaneously at Crystal Palace, Huddersfield, Newcastle and Watford. Games on!
