Newcastle v West Ham (15:00 BST)

    Ian Dennis
Senior football reporter at St James' Park for 5 live Sport

Big afternoon on Tyneside. Issues behind the scenes regarding investment and players' bonuses plus it's been a poor start on the pitch for Newcastle United.

Rafa Benitez is frustrated but constant talk of "lack of investment" will test the patience of owner Mike Ashley and SHOULD things come to a head then there is only winner.

West Ham have brought a strong squad to the north east and will look to add to Newcastle United woes.

Newcastle v West Ham (15:00 BST)

What's going on at Newcastle? Apparently Rafa Benitez has barely spoken to owner Mike Ashley in the past year, with the sportswear tycoon supposed to be unhappy about the Spaniard's mutterings in the media about the lack of financial support in the transfer market.

Will he stay or will he go? That's Rafa, not Ashley, by the way. Toon fans certainly hope he will stay but the back page of today's Daily Mirror doesn't give them much encouragement.

And, in a twist of fate, Rafa has been linked with... West Ham. Today's opponents have also had a stinking start, leading to chat that Slaven Bilic might be under a bit of pressure.

There has been a goal and a red card. For the same man!

I wouldn't have Channing Tatum down as a football fan. Apparently he follows Arsenal.

The Hollywood hunk says he played varsity soccer when he was younger but was asked by the parents of the other children to switch to American football because he was "more of a slam-into-each-other type of player".

He'd get more yellow cards than Lee Cattermole.

    Watford v Brighton (15:00 BST)

Watford make one enforced change to the team that won 2-0 at Bournemouth last weekend, with Jose Holebas suspended after seeing red in the EFL Cup defeat to Bristol City in midweek; he's replaced by Belgian Christian Kabasele.

Andre Carrillo, who has joined the Hornets on a season-long loan from Benfica, is on the bench.

Watford XI: Gomes, Britos, Prodl, Amrabat, Cleverley, Richarlison, Chalobah, Doucoure, Gray, Femenia, Kabasele.

For Brighton, there are two changes from the side that lost 2-0 at Leicester, with Tomer Hemed in for Jamie Murphy and Anthony Knockaert starting in place of Glenn Murray, who does not feature on the visitors' bench.

Their record signing, winger Jose Izquierdo, has been given international clearance and starts on the bench.

Brighton XI: Ryan, Bruno, Dunk, Stephens, Hemed, Knockaert, Gross, March, Duffy, Propper, Suttner.

Not sure they've got any choice Simon. Well, unless it involved going to four at the back and it doesn't look like Paul Clement wants to do that.

    Huddersfield v Southampton (15:00 BST)

Huddersfield boss David Wagner, wearing those snazzy glasses that his mate Jurgen Klopp also wears, has just been speaking to Match of the Day's Steve Wilson in the John Smith's Stadium tunnel.

Wonder if they bought them in a BOGOF offer? Anyway... here's a flavour of what he had to say about today's opponents Southampton.

"This is a top-class team - a top 10 team, possibly more," says the German.

"We have to be at our best. Even if we respect Southampton we have to have a lot of focus on ourselves and do our stuff right. That's how we have always done it."

Southampton make just one change to the squad which beat West Ham last weekend and have named the same starting XI.

New signing Wesley Hoedt replaces Jan Bednarek on the bench but there is still no sign of Virgil van Dijk amid speculation he is close to a move away from St Mary's.

Southampton XI: Forster, Soares, Stephens, Yoshida, Bertrand, Romeu, Lemina, Tadic, Davis (C), Redmond, Gabbiadini.

That's a blow for Palace. Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been their leading light in their two defeats. Ruud Gullit was raving about him in the Match of the Day production office last week. Ruud Gullit! High praise indeed.

Crystal Palace boss Frank de Boer makes just the one change from the side that lost 1-0 to Liverpool at Anfield last Saturday.
