A meeting of the great entertainers, two league games played a collective one point, no goals scored and Swansea are yet to have a shot on target. We can only hope that today is the day the shackles come off. Palace stick with three at the back, Sam Clucas makes his Swansea debut. Remember the 5-4 between these two last season, here's hoping.

Lots of gum chewing going on in our four Premier League tunnels as the players gather before striding out into the English sunshine. A party atmosphere at Huddersfield as hand-clapping, flag-waving and clacker-bashing greets them.

Rafa Benitez is one of the best managers in the world.

If the Newcastle board are not matching the ambition of the manager, then he should walk.

The fans are heading to the match but it is really flat outside St James' Park. No-one quite sure what to expect. Surely Newcastle United can't start the season with four straight defeats in league and cup?

Shades are everywhere at the John Smith's. Including being perched inside Paul Ince's shirt buttons. The former England captain and his missus Claire are watching on as proud parents, with son Tom lining up for the home team.

As this is only the second season ever in which these two have been in the top division together, let's do things a little bit differently.

Instead of looking forward, take a rewind with me to November 1982, external.

Graham Taylor's Watford, on their way to being Division One runners-up to Liverpool, face a Brighton side managed by Mike Bailey - soon to be sacked, with the colourful Jimmy Melia then taking the Seagulls to the FA Cup final and relegation.

If there's one club who have become used to a poor start to a new season, it's Newcastle.

They've not won any of their last nine top-flight games in August and they even began last year's Championship campaign with two defeats.

Their latest loss to Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup further accentuated the negativity on Tyneside following a summer of perceived transfer inactivity.

Though West Ham have also failed to secure a point, they will arrive in much better psychological shape following their win at Cheltenham and a gutsy display at Southampton.

With so much attention on their hosts' performance, the visitors may well feel it's an opportunity for them to take advantage.

Huddersfield's start to the season has been little short of phenomenal.

Crystal Palace and Newcastle are not the best opponents they'll play this season - but take nothing away from David Wagner and his men.

The Terriers have made one of the best starts to a Premier League season ever by a newly promoted club - should they win again it'll be the best since Bolton in 2001.

Southampton have made a low-key start under Manuel Pellegrino - a frustrating goalless draw with Swansea, a rather fortunate win over West Ham, and then a strong-ish side beaten by Wolves in the Carabao Cup - all three games at home.

Crystal Palace v Swansea (15:00 BST)

    John Roder

Five teams failed to score in their opening two Premier League games this season, including Crystal Palace and Swansea.

My Palace-supporting friend is describing this as a huge fixture ahead of what he expects to be another struggle to avoid relegation.

Paul Clement had just been appointed when Swansea won 2-1 at Selhurst Park in January. It meant the Swans completed the double over Palace, having won 5-4 in a thrilling encounter in November at the Liberty.

Given the two teams' respective scoring records so far, another nine-goal afternoon is probably not on the cards. A one-goal victory would be perfectly satisfactory for either side.

If points were handed out for pre-match playlists then Newcastle would be already on the board. The Jam's mod classic 'Town Called Malice' pumps out at St James' Park. Quite apt considering the frosty atmosphere between Rafa Benitez and Mike Ashley.

Big boost for West Ham to have Manuel Lanzini on the bench.

Their 'player of the year' last season picked up a knee injury in pre season and Kouyate is alongside him after his comeback in midweek.

All the focus is on Newcastle and off the field matters but West Ham are also yet to win, make no mistake ... This is a huge game.

    Huddersfield v Southampton (15:00 BST)

Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino, speaking to BBC Sport: "I am happy with our start, we have played two difficult games and deserved to win both games. Today will be difficult against a tough team who are in a good dynamic right now.

"They play with a lot of energy, but I am confident it can be a good win for us. David Wagner might think we are favourites but we have to show that on the pitch, it is easy to write that on paper.

"In the Premier League every side is important. The balance between win and lose is really thin."
