  1. 'It was a poor game'published at 16:53 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

    West Brom 1-1 Stoke

    Stoke City

Stoke boss Mark Hughes said: "We have gone behind in the game against the run of play and showed good character to come back. We were the team that was pushing to the end. It wasn't a high quality game. A poor game I have to admit. But you have to stick with it. I was pleased we were able to show that mentality.

"The conditions took the edge off both sides. Warm day, long grass, no water on the pitch. At the end we will take the point. In my view we should have had a penaty for a handball but the referee disagrees."

Hughes also hinted at a few new faces before the transfer window closed and added: "The group could have maybe do with one or two to add to the quality we have. We will try"

    Liverpool 2-0 Arsenal

Liverpool are totally in charge and could have scored more. The first goal was great, a header from Firmino, and the second was superb on the counter-attack from Mane.

Liverpool are dictating almost everything and Arsene Wenger must make a change.

Anfield are loving this as chants of 'Liverpool....' kick into action again. Liverpool are good value and Jurgen Klopp knows it. It was high fives and hugs from him with his backroom team in the technical area when Sadio Mane struck Liverpool's second - contrast that to Arsene Wenger with his head bowed and hands on hips as he walked back to his seat.

What a half from Liverpool. What a half from Arsenal. One scintillating. One utterly wretched.

Liverpool have simply run right over the top of Arsenal - who do not seem to fancy this task one little bit.

At half-time Arsene Wenger has to change his system. Ozil is a wonderful player but he has been non-existent today.

Wenger's side are getting outplayed and Lacazette must be wondering how he can't get into this side.

Can Arsenal grab a goal back before the interval? Two minutes remaining.

Arsene Wenger needs to give a team-talk akin to Bobby Axelrod in Billions.

    That will get them going.

  12. 'A devastating goal from Mane'published at 16:42 British Summer Time 27 August 2017

    Liverpool 2-0 Arsenal

    Robbie Savage
Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder at Anfield for 5 live Sport

An absolutely sensational counter-attack from Liverpool. Two passes, the ball into Firmino then into Mane on the left. He's one-on-one, he drags the ball onto his right and then curls it past the despairing dive of Petr Cech.

Arsenal are getting torn apart, they are all over the place. A devastating goal from Mane and Liverpool.

GOAL - Liverpool 2-0 Arsenalpublished at 39 mins

    Sadio Mane

    Liverpool

    Arsenal being punished.

Liverpool break so quickly and the Gunners defenders just cannot cope.

Roberto Firmino, who must be worth £250m if his start to the season is anything to go by, lays on Sadio Mane down the left.

The former Saint has a lot to do, but makes it look easy, cutting in and curling a bending shot into the far corner past the outstretched hand of Petr Cech.

Harry Kane almost controlled that too well, and he had to readjust. To be fair, Tarkowski to the rescue, as he got in front of Kane just at the point he hit his shot.

Vokes cannot keep the ball up top for Burnley, and he's not getting much support from his midfield either.

In reality this game is simply wave after wave of Tottenham attacks. Burnley would be grateful for any form of respite.

There's a real buoyancy about this Liverpool performance. Klopp's got the noise and atmosphere from the crowd he craved with roars of 'Liverpool' around Anfield this afternoon.

With performances like this they don't miss Philippe Coutinho - we haven't seen him from our vantage point here in the main stand or on the monitors in front of us. There's hardly an empty seat inside Anfield today. It's flown by so far.

Arsenal are all over the place at the back.

Hector Bellerin loses the ball on the edge of his own box, before Granit Xhaka tries to play a backheel to Petr Cech, but can only divert it away for a corner.

From the set-piece, Georginio Wijnaldum's volley is blocked in the box.

    Liverpool 1-0 Arsenal

    Robbie Savage

Liverpool are the sort of side who need to get a second or a third goal to really finish opposition teams off, because with their back line they remain vulnerable when they're only 1-0 ahead.
