I think that was the England fans clapping that substitution, not the French. Camille Abily has looked dangerous and I'm glad to see her off the pitch!

Siobhan Chamberlain's first touch is a horrorshow as she punches a cross straight into the chest of Marie-Laure Delie! She gets away with it though.

I have ultimate faith in Siobhan Chamberlain. She's very improved. Her composure has improved, her distribution is fantastic. She needs to be sharp mentally and also must be physically ready to come on in a pressure situation like this.

Siobhan Chamberlain is on then. No pressure. England are 16 minutes away from the last four. The France fans are booing loudly.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 72 mins

    England 1-0 France

England keeper Karen Bardsley cannot continue. France are fuming as she goes down for a third time but the stretcher is called for as Siobhan Chamberlain warms up. She came on for the World Cup quarter-final two years ago so this is nothing new.

Eight England players in their own area as Jill Scott hacks a cross clear. Can they carry a threat on the break though? Jordan Nobbs finds Jodie Taylor and with nothing on she hits the target from 20 yards. Good try.

Not sure England have been out of their half since they took that lead. It's backs to the wall stuff from the Lionesses. Mark Sampson may need to make some changes soon as this will be a very tiring spell.

Millie Bright then dives in and is perilously close to giving away a penalty...

I think Karen Bardsley has a real problem. She's limping around and not looking her usual self.

England keeper Karen Bardsley is down and hurt again after a clearance. Will she have to come off? The France bench are not happy.

When Lucy Bronze started her charge for that assist, you could see there was only going to be one outcome. Like. A. Train.

Karen Bardsley is able to carry on. England fans may not be able to if they continue to defend like this though. It's a real bag of nerves back there as every cross is hacked away. Last-gasp stuff from Steph Houghton this time...

Karen Bardsley in the England goal was whacked at least twice in that goalmouth scramble and she needs some treatment. It gives England a chance to regather as they were in a mess for a moment.

You thought the angle was against Jodie Taylor but she's so clinical. She waited for the goalkeeper to go down and then tucked it past her. She only needs one chance!

England rocking as Kadidiatou Diani scoops a shot in on goal, Lucy Bronze and Karen Bardsley almost get in each other's way and Bronze does the right thing in the end by heading it up and over.

Bardsley then comes for a punch and misses it and England have to clear. Nerves? You bet!

    She does not miss those!

One chance, one goal! Jodie Taylor, soon to be Dame Jodie Taylor surely, has her fifth of the tournament. A loose ball is cut out, Lucy Bronze plays in Taylor and it's one touch and finish across Sarah Bouhaddi and into the net.

    A massive goal!
